If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must:
Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
Provide a new username.
To do this, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Orange Mike | Talk19:00, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

First I would like to thank you for bringing the fact that the content is promoting Mr Matinyarare and the username is promoting my business. I was not aware that the content I submitted was promoting Mr Matinyarare. I will edit it according to the wikipedia guidelines (which I understand better now) and refrain from any content or referrences that might be promoting him. I am not being paid to create a wikipedia profile for Mr Matinyarare. I believe that he is making a valuable contribution in telling the African story from an african point of view and I would like to share those insights with the rest of the world. Decline reason:
You said here that you were interested in editing about your client, and Mr. Matinyarare is the only topic you have edited about, so I must conclude that he is your client, which contradicts your statement here that you are "not being paid to create a Wikipedia profile"(we don't have "profiles" here, not a single one, we have articles). Note that "paid editing" is not limited to specific payment for edits, otherwise every paid editor would deny being specifically paid to edit. Paid editing includes any paid relationship- if Mr. Matinyarare is your client, you are a paid editor and are required by the Terms of Use to disclose this. What you describe as your purpose here is best suited to social media or a personal website, not Wikipedia, which is interested in what independent reliable sources say about a topic. You won't be unblocked to further make edits related to your conflict of interest; if that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to edit about topics for which you have no conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 13:32, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
