I don't want to start a polemic here. See the "After the chord" section, which says that the nonsense chatter repeated inifitely if the record player didn't have an auto return mechanism. --190.84.140.135 00:13, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Hey there, thanks for your report to AIV I've taken action. I'm going to paste a templates below as a guide to how to issue these templates. Any probs don't hesitate to give me a shout. All the best Khukri 10:47, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When using certain templates on talk pages, don't forget to substitute with text by adding subst: to the template tag. For example, use {{subst:uw-test1}} instead of {{uw-test1}}. This reduces server load and prevents accidental blanking of the template. Thank you.
Thanks for the info. Was it or a similar article previously deleted? - I can't find the deletion page, but I note that I turned Neo-Gothic art movement into a redirect, and see it's now been reverted back. I've tried putting a request for speedy delete, if not I guess we'll have to go for AfD. Mdwh 23:04, 25 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm really sorry to have to do this, but I reverted your comment at WP:DRV, because the debate was already closed, and I've undeleted the article. The debate's now at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paul McCarthy. The best thing to do, though, is just to add your sources to the article itself. Thanks. Chick Bowen 03:10, 27 May 2007 (UTC)

Systems House/Infoart deletion
So sorry to hear about the deletion of the Systems House page. I understand that there may have been some problems with style, but the cited reason for removal was 'un-noteworthy'. It's perhaps too late to make an argument for this artist? They are quite young, but their work has been shown at quite prestigeous gaeries including Victoria Miro (one of London's top blue chip galleries), Michel Janssen (a major art dealer in Cologne), The Henry Moore Foundation, and Chisenhale gallery. They have also been seected for EAST, a very prestigeous exhibition in the UK; their work is also incuded in the Saatchi Collection. Is quite an established portfolio to illustrate the artists importance in relation to contemporary art. If it's possible to reinstate this page, would be appreciated. Am happy to make any edits or alterations if necessary. Many thanks, --Infoart 12:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Xiang Jing/Infoart deletion nomination
Sorry for another plea for inclusion: Xiang Jing has been a very established and famous artist in Asia for many years, and is increasingly becoming more well-known and sought after in the west. She has had solo exhibitions at the Shanghai Art Museum, The Chinese European Art Centre, China Art Seasons, and Tuan Cheng Gallery (the Chinese equivalents to MOMA or Gagosian in New York). Her work has also been represented at: MOCA Shanghai, Jack Tilton (top NY gallery), The Irish Museum of Modern Art (Dubin), The National Gallery of Poland (Warsaw), and The National Gallery of China (Beijing). Her work is showcased in the ESSL Collection (Vienna)and Saatchi Collection (London). One of her small works is being auctioned quite soon by Ravenel, a leading European art auctioneer, with an estimate of $35000-55000 USD. For her full cv and biography please see: http://www.saatchi-gallery.co.uk/artists/xiang_jing_biography.htm Many thanks, --Infoart 12:49, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- As far as I understand it, you can recreate the articles as long as they have the improvements per your above notes. Speedy delete simply means that the articles didn't seem to be notable enough, but if you feel otherwise, you can redo it and go from there. I'm not an administrator so I can't undelete, just nominate. I'm not opposed to either article being recreated, and maybe I was too quick to speedy delete it. Freshacconci 13:05, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the advice -- didn't want to recreate something and make more work to be deleted if it truly isn't appropriate. Will have another go as a draft, so the editors can make the decision. Am fairy new to all this, so all suggestions and guidance are very welcome. (ps -- i like your username -- Vito is a hero!) very best, --Infoart 13:29, 2 June 2007 (UTC)

Why remove a biographical picture of the artist from his own article? Other entries have such images. --Mdomino
Speedy delete as promotional requiring extensive rewrite? I'm asking the two non-COI editors what they think. Otherwise it needs savage pruning. Tyrenius 02:21, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

Dear Dylanfly
I had the idea that adding content to wiki was what was expected. I fail to understand the "pure genius" comment other an attempt to be nasty. I may add that his 2 essays on Baudrillard were accepted for publication at the International Journal of Baudrillard Studies: http://www.ubishops.ca/baudrillardstudies/ so your testimony to their worthlessness seems silly and rather petty of you. Yes I created this page and 2 more (Frank Popper and Ebon Fisher) but after this experience there will be no more content supplied by me. There are NO claims of "global influence" - only specific facts concerning all three pages I created for you. If you object to my linking his early work to punk - then remove that reference but please stop your pettiness.
Rydernechvatal
I just restored the wiki link in the Nechvatal page to Rhys Chatham. Don't understand why it was nonlinked and why the title of the Chatham/Nechvatal opera XS: The Opera Opus was not in quotes as I had originally placed it. These are improvements?

Dear Freshacconci
Thanks for joining me and a few others in grappling with Joseph Nechvatal's remarkable, pioneering career. I've known Joseph and his work for over a decade, beginning with a conference we shared in Wales, Consciousness Reframed, initiated by Roy Ascott.
On the Wikipedia front, I am impressed by your contributions and dedication and so I don't want to over-step any hard-won efforts. I made a few tweeks on Joseph's page in which I opened his Life and Work section with a contextualizing paragraph that clarifies what seems like an overwhelmingly complex career. His significance, I fear, will end up drowning in detail if some kind of focus isn't brought to the work BEFORE the biographical bits.
Could you take a look at what I've just contributed and see if there's any cleaning up or adjustment that might improve on it (without simply reverting back to the earlier version). I deeply appreciate your understanding.
BTW, have you come across the interactive theatre work of my old friend, Chris Von Baeyer, in Toronto? His Playback Theatre has been going strong for a decade at least. Very dedicated, civilized, conscientous stuff.
Best wishes and regards,

Patti Stoneham
Why was the Stoneham paragraph and painting image removed from the Communicating Emotion section? It's been there for many months, edited by myself and others. I believe it is accurate and appropriate for the article. I want to be sure it will stay if I restore it. --Pattistoneham 03:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
I removed that section mainly because the material was unsourced and sounded like original research (see WP:OR). These statements
- "One owner put the painting up for auction on eBay because it so frightened her children."
- "It is known as the eBay Haunted Painting."
- "Although the story behind the painting is less sensational than Internet lore indicates, the emotional impact the painting and the story have had on people around the world is undeniable."
- "Stoneham has received an outpouring of emotional correspondence since the eBay auction, that ranges from healthy self-examination to demented rantings."
are all unsupported claims. Where is the proof in all this? How is "the emotional impact the painting and the story have had on people around the world" "undeniable"? How could that even be accurately measured? As this is an encyclopedia, only neutral and verifiable facts can be included. Also, if you are related to Bill Stoneham, as your user name suggests, there may be a conflict of interest. Please see WP:COI. I apologize for not addressing this in the talkpage for Art as this would have made my editing decisions more apparent. I suggest you address this issue on Talk:Art to see what other editors have to say. This would be the proper procedure. Thank you.
A bit harsh
I thought that your reversion to List of British artists and the subsequent warning of Wokker was a bit harsh. It was obvious that he was adding an entry to the list of artists and he got the formatting wrong. I have fixed it and put it in the correct place in the list. I have also struck out your warning since it was more than a test, it was an attempted good faith edit that he got wrong. I think we've all had some of those. Regards LittleOldMe 17:23, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
I speedy deleted as promotional requiring rewrite. It was then uploaded again, and I deleted again. User:Art4em has made some useful edits, but needs an eye on him. Tyrenius 03:10, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Per your request and Tyrenius, I have made many corrections upon the draft User:Art4em/Draft 1 . Could you please give it your eye? I would like to get it up. Thank you.

I do not suppose that you happen to know why the Talk:Situationist International page is full of material apparently dumped during a page merge do you? I am currently trying to sort out the multiple redirects between Situationist, Situationism, and Situationist International, and I found that the original Talk:Situationist page was never moved when Situationist was moved to Situationist International. Unfortunately, it cannot be moved to Talk:Situationist International, since that page is being used for storage. If we can sort out all of that information, and figure out what is needed and what can be discarded, the Talk:Situationist could then be merged to Talk:Situationist International. I would like to know your thoughts and opinions on the matter. ---TheoldanarchistComhrá 15:06, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Hello, I need to tell you that the contribution that I made in the article rock and roll is completely right. I´ve been to special particular classes of rock and roll history and I´ve been taught the contribution which you interpretated as vandalism. Thank you. --LucasBunchi 16:03, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
I hope someday you understand and open your closed mind. I have been to special classes with professional musicians. I´ve studied for 10 years rock and roll history.
By the way I think you didn´t understand the concept of vandalism. Please study the meaning of vandalism before you answer to me again and before you blame any other inocent wikipedian.
