Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Frederick Lugard, 1st Baron Lugard, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Equality. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:30, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Women's War into Nwanyeruwa. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 12:24, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

I noticed your recent edit to Overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Peaceray (talk) 01:39, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I see an editor has already explained this to you. I just reverted your edit to Danbury, Connecticut because I wasn't sure what you were doing, and it didn't seem an improvement. It's very important to leave an edit summary so other editors know why are making your edits, otherwise you will see a lot of your hard work reverted with the edit summary "unexplained content removal". Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 19:07, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from making test edits in Wikipedia pages, such as those you made to Royal Canadian Mounted Police, even if you intend to fix them later. Your edits have been reverted. If you would like to experiment again, please use your sandbox. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:10, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

History of the United States Navy

[edit]

Please avoid overlinking, ensure all additions are supported by sources and try to add edit summaries to explain your changes. Instead of introducing mass changes all at once, it would be better to add/make changes one at a time, or section by section. That way, good edits can be retained while dealing with problematic ones. Thank you - wolf 19:36, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

changes you made to the Bernardo de Gálvez article

[edit]

I just reverted changes you made to the Bernardo de Gálvez article because you've changed the text so that it no longer corresponds to given sources. By the way, are you the same as the blocked editor Snagemit, who was a sockpuppet of Marshalb? If you are, you shouldn't be editing WP. Carlstak (talk) 11:48, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
