Public speaking organizations
[edit]Hi, I’m responding to your question on the Toastmasters International (TI) article about other public speaking organizations. From my research Toastmasters is unique in its non-profit, peer-based, ‘practice and get feedback in a supportive club environment’ format.
Autonomous clubs are organized at the local level and members pay dues to TI to access self-paced learning materials. Leadership skills are developed through running meetings and leading clubs.
There are organizations who offer for profit public speaking courses, the main old one being Dale Carnegie. There was a new community developing a few years ago as a reaction to TI fees. Not sure of it’s name or what happened to that.
Many other organizations offer public speaking courses. Some use a similar learning mode to TI. D1doherty (talk) 17:24, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hi there. Thanks for your email. The data comes from the follow sources:
- 1830 to 2001: ATOC's 2008 publication Billion Passenger Railway
- 2002 onwards: UK Office of Rail Regulation (ORR) statistics, Table 1220 - Passenger journeys
Hope this helps! Tompw (talk) 21:10, 28 February 2024 (UTC)
