Notability of Splint Music
[edit]A tag has been placed on Splint Music requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. gb (t, c) 20:18, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hiya - am going to assume good faith and have replaced the speedy deletion tag with the "under construction" tag. It might be an idea, if you think the article's worthy of inclusion, to move it into your sandbox first, bring it up to scratch there, then move it back into the main article space. If you want any help or advice, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. gb (t, c) 20:27, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Please feel free not to email me, and instead to leave me a message on my talk page. Please, also, read the message I left for you above. gb (t, c) 21:16, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hello. I know you emailed me - after you had done, I replied with my message above. As I said there, I have changed the article to include an "under construction" tag - this means you have a bit of time to improve it. Can I suggest that you read my article above before chasing me again (whether by email or otherwise) - in particular read this guideline on notability - this is an important criteria as to what is an is not suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia. Any problems or questions, leave me a message on my talk page. gb (t, c) 22:11, 6 February 2008 (UTC)
Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Splint promo Picture.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Splint promo Picture.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 05:06, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Splint (band)
[edit]I have nominated Splint (band), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Splint (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
