Connected contributor

[edit]

As you have been editing only the bio of one particular scientist, it is reasonable for me to ask you if you are a connected contributor, with some degree of WP:Conflict of Interest. This is particularly likely, in my experience, because I have been removing material that only he, or a advocate for him would include, and you have been restoring it.If so, you ought to declare it. You need not declare the specifics, unless there are financial considerations. I have been removing material that only he, or a advocate for him would include, and you have been restoring it. RE: Not a connected contributor

[edit]

I am not a connected contributor; I am not Dr. Pawlik, nor his surrogate, nor his advocate. I wanted to get into Wikipedia editing and I decided to make a page about Pawlik. I was aware of his work because I attended UNCW several years ago.

My experience with Wikipedia has been very negative. The first page I made became the target of destructive editing. I thoroughly researched Dr. Pawlik and prepared a well-organized biography about him that followed Wikipedia standards for biographies of living people. The fact that I have not made other contributions yet is because it takes time to make a high-quality page. But what a waste of time it is to conduct extensive research if other editors go in and excise entire sections of text that I prepared. I am not interested in edit warring but I believe that DGG is making a concerted effort to reduce the size and scope of the Pawlik page. I have experienced so much vandalism that I'm not sure Wikipedia is worth my time: after all, writing and editing for Wikipedia is volunteer service. Fossil21 (talk) 14:31, 4 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
