Civilians killed in 1945 military campaign ((World War II Death Toll))

The West German government had made a rough estimate in 1956 of 20,000 civilians killed during the 1945 military campaign in current post war German borders, not including the former German territories in Poland.[193] However, there is a more recent estimate of 22,000 civilians killed during the fighting in Berlin only.[454]
