Someone posted an email claiming to have your password in it on Wikipedia Review and as you have no prior edits, Checkuser cannot be used to determine if the original owner of the account retained control of it or if multiple individuals now have control of it. If you would like, I could rename this account and you could create a new account with a new password under the same username. MBisanz talk 04:02, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, you can rename this account to Formeruser-84. I have a question though. How will you be able to determine if multiple individuals have control of the new account? One other question. If I post an email on Wikipedia Review claiming to have your password in it, will your account be blocked as well? Watertower (talk) 07:02, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In theory you will not share the password of the new account with multiple individuals per WP:NOSHARE, but I won't be able to determine it unless you say so or your edits clearly indicate more than one person is in control of the account. As to the second question, if my account began acting oddly after you posted the emailing claiming to have my password, I fully expect I would be blocked as well. I would contend that beginning to edit and knowing how to use a template despite never having edited before, immediately following the release of the password is odd enough behavior to support the contention that this account was compromised from the release of the password. Doing the rename now. MBisanz talk 07:44, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So, basically, this new account that is not blocked is exactly the same as the renamed account which is blocked. That makes a lot of sense. Watertower (talk) 07:56, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Question: What happens if, tomorrow, someone else posts an email claiming to have my password? Watertower (talk) 08:09, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
