The Kilobyte Barnstar
For your efforts in restoring the industry standard terms for memory size to the Manual of Style (dates and numbers). The IC is an Intel 2708, a 1 kilobyte EPROM made in 1976. SWTPC6800 (talk) 03:53, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think the RfC is pretty ready. We can add to it as time grows. What say you and Greg ?Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβςWP Physics} 05:56, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think so but Greg might have something more to add. I'm going to be travelling the next five days and I'm unsure if I'll have reliable internet access. If Greg agrees then you don't have to wait for me, just go ahead and post it if you have time. In that instance you have my permission to endorse the RfC on my behalf as "an editor who tried to resolve the issue with Thunderbird2". I'll put up a "travelling" template on my talk page when I start to travel. :) Fnagaton 06:07, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright I'll check with Greg. I know won't post in in the next 2-3 days 'cause I'll be busy. Maybe Greg will.Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβςWP Physics} 06:11, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Travel

After an extended period of travel and several months away from home I find it reinforces the appetite for home cooked food. I'm sorry to those who couldn't contact me while I was away, I forgot to put up a "Busy" talk page template. Fnagaton 01:59, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anupam nearly blocked

Per a discussion at WP:ANI (if it is not live when you go through, use the search box for Anupam to bring up the archive), a large number of editors identified Anupam as a problem editor who should be blocked from editing. There is convincing proof he uses sockpuppet accounts to pretend to be more than one person to try to create a false consensus to push his POV, and many people have noted his wikilawyering and deceptions in order to advance his agenda. He apparently actually comes straight from Conservapedia, which I guess should not be a surprise.

Anyway, since you asked me what might be done about the problems on Thanksgiving, now that he is on the way out (and perhaps Lionel and others as well also involved in that discussion), we should renew activity to prevent religious bias from being entered into that article. I started by reverting things back to the consensus version before he and his gang of POV pushers showed up. Hopefully now that his behavior has been called out we can get even more editors interested in a Thanksgiving article free of ultra-right wing religious talking points. Please note: should you decide to go to ANI after being obviously canvassed, you will be tagged as such {{canvassed}}.– Lionel (talk) 02:42, 9 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to comment on VP proposal: Establish WT:MoS as the official site for style Q&A on Wikipedia

You are being contacted because of your participation in the proposal to create a style noticeboard. An alternate solution, the full or partial endorsement of the style Q&A currently performed at WT:MoS, is now under discussion at the Village Pump. Darkfrog24 (talk) 21:19, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

References for binary terabytes

And petabytes, exabytes etc

Useful links, thanks. Kbrose is saying nasty things about me and you. I think we need to get an admin report opened because he and Dondervogel2 are bullying me instead of discussing the points raised.Glider87 (talk) 14:17, 22 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There are many others there that can be used as reliable sources. When people start using personal attacks it means they know their arguments have failed.Fnagaton 05:33, 23 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I believe ISPs in Singapore are legally mandated to use transparent proxies that users cannot turn off. I don't think it's fair I'm blocked because the check user indicates a proxy is being used.Fnagaton 15:52, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

If you look at the sock puppet investigation, I think you'll see that you're blocked on the grounds of your editing history rather than the use of proxies. Peridon (talk) 17:38, 9 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have opened a discussion at AN regarding whether your account should be banned: Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Archive273#Community ban discussion: Fnagaton. Statements on this page will be seen by the community. Someguy1221 (talk) 08:57, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. 3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
