Earth's Rotation - Sidereal Time is shorter than Stellar Time?
[edit]The article "Earth's Rotation" has a discussion regarding the difference between stellar time and sidereal (Sun) time. In the article, there is an excellent drawing of the difference between the two. The article states that sidereal time is shorter than stellar time by about 8 milliseconds. If you look at the diagram, it is exactly the opposite. It will take a longer period of time to go from point 1 in the drawing to point 3 in the drawing than from point 1 to 2. Sidereal time is therefore longer than stellar time.
That means that the two times listed at the beginning of the paragraph have to be reversed as well.
