Problems editing Thomas Nassi
[edit]I apologize for intrusion, but was seeking help with editing my contribution on Thomas Nassi. I was seemingly unable to get edits to stick - nor to remove the cleanup tag after replacing a dead URL. Any comment could also be made to my email site, since I may not be able to find my way back to this talk page.

Hi Frank, I'm responding here on your talk page since my response is sort of off-topic for Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors. There's no intrusion there, though if you have editing problems in the future, it may be quicker and more direct to place {{helpme}} here on your talk page.
I'm not sure why you were unable to get edits to stick; if you clicked the "Save page" button it should have worked, since that page (Thomas Nassi) hasn't been protected from edits by new users (more about page protection here). I see from the article's history that you have successfully made three separate edits to it. If you tried to make more, then, as you say, they didn't work. If you could describe how exactly you were making these subsequent edits, I may be able to discern the problem.
Also, as a side-note, generally we remove email addresses on Wikipedia as a precautionary measure to protect editors from spam. If you set an email address in your preferences (found at the very top of the page, as "my preferences"), others can email you using the "E-mail this user" link in the toolbox on the left side. Also, you can keep track of pages you want to pay attention to by clicking the "watch" tab at the top (just under "my preferences", or nearby). Clicking "watch" puts the page on your watchlist, which is a handy list of pages you keep track of ("my watchlist" is next to "my preferences"). Hope this helps! -kotra (talk) 18:02, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
