Imao blog
[edit]Hello, Alexa ranking had nothing to do with my comments about deleting this blog. I hold blogs to a much, much higher bar than general websites. IMO a blog has to be of overwhelming popularity before it is suitable for a Wikipedia article. I would vote delete on my own Blog if someone submitted an article about it.--Isotope23 18:15, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding at least. FlyingSpaceMonkey 18:16, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- No problem... please don't take it personally. If it is your blog I wish you luck with it!--Isotope23 18:55, 14 February 2006 (UTC)
- I understand it wasn't personal. And you are probably right. It's not my blog, though I am now one of the author's since it went group blog. I have been a huge fan of it since the day I discovered it. My zeal for it was based more on that than vanity. Thanks for the sentiment though. - FlyingSpaceMonkey 04:05, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

- Hi FSM, your article Imao blog (AfD discussion) was already deleted. If you wish to contest it, you can bring it up at WP:DRV, although I doubt it will be undeleted. —Quarl (talk) 2006-02-14 19:08Z
- Yeah I saw that. No contest, I can tell when I'm beaten fair and square. I'll not contest the deletion, I'll just postpone this till IMAO.US's notablility is undeniable. but thanks for the advice. - FlyingSpaceMonkey 04:05, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello Space Monkey
[edit]I saw your post on the new users page and thought I would drop by to say hi. Since joining I've had similar thoughts about how Wiki could be used for a variety of functions such as blogging and as an option to myspace.com users too. Though I'm still not certain how to deal with vandals. -- Whane 01:44, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
- Whane, Unfortunately What wikipedia is not gets in the way of all of that. FlyingSpaceMonkey 03:49, 18 February 2006 (UTC)
- You're right; ref the 5 pillars. That does seem to put a damper on blogs here too. Yet the functionality is still there and I'm sure it could be used in a variety of ways, if not on Wikipedia, then on other sites using Wiki. -- Whane 00:39, 22 February 2006 (UTC)
