Hello

- As noted below, the place to declare your COI is on your User page, in this instance now User:Flenleaf1. You have done that. The place to propose edits to Rightscale is on the Talk page of the article (not your Talk page). David notMD (talk) 18:55, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Flenleaf. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. David notMD (talk) 18:53, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
Right idea, wrong place
[edit]Your requested edit changes to RightScale show up on your User page. The correct place to put this is the Talk page of the article. David notMD (talk) 16:43, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- What you want to add is more content to the origin/history of the company. Are there reasons this should be so detailed? Also, all of the article as it exists is about history and partnership - basically nothing about what the company did before it was acquired in 2018. David notMD (talk) 16:51, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
- Should this be "RightScale was a company..."? I ask because the RightScale website links go to the acquiring company, with no mention of RightScale still existing as such. David notMD (talk) 16:53, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
You have copied your edit request content to the Talk page of the article, so you might as well delete all of it from your User page, leaving just the content that identifies your relationship with RightScale. At this point in time, need to be patient. David notMD (talk) 10:19, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
@David notMD: How long will this probably take? What else can I do to make it easier and quicker? Flenleaf1 (talk) 10:13, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Try Wikipedia:Requests for comment I have not used RfC myself, but I think this is a way to actively ask for a resolution. If not, I would expect a responder to set you on the best course of action. David notMD (talk) 13:09, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Appears that putting the words "request edit" inside double curly brackets {{ }} at the section of the Talk page in question will get someone to look at it. David notMD (talk) 02:30, 30 December 2020 (UTC)
