Re:StarCraft
[edit]Well, that particular point wasn't referenced and was very poorly integrated. I wouldn't recommend throwing things into articles in brackets like that, especially without a source to back it up. However, the main problem I had with the that bit of info is that the section is only meant to provide a very quick summary of the races' playstyles. Throwing that in there seems harmless, but unfortunately opens a small can of worms, as it doesn't explain how or why it isn't the case that the Protoss don't rely on expensive, slowproducing and powerful units in the later stages of the game.
One possible interpretation of it to someone unfamiliar with the game—ie, our target audience—could be that in the later stages of the game, the Protoss start producing all their units as fast as the Zerg, which isn't the case. It would require a few more lines to explain what happens in the later stages of the game so that hypothetical person understands exactly what you mean, yet that same person doesn't need to know all that to get the boiled-down overall understanding of the race's gameplay mechanics: that ultimately, the race focuses on expensive, slowproducing and powerful units. It becomes excessive detail because it requires further explanation to understand that bit of detail, but it isn't actually needed by the reader to grasp the basic elements. I hope that helps explain my edit. -- Sabre (talk) 12:10, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks a million, this gives me a great insight into your way of thinking. --Flamingo85 (talk) 00:11, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
The article Poker in the Park has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- no 3rd party references ; no Google news coverage except by poker websites
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. DGG ( talk ) 18:57, 13 November 2013 (UTC)
