Hi! I've just noticed you've closed a number of requests as "taken" - check the user list, those users don't exist. Are you 100% certain they've been taken, because I reckon it's a bug in the software. Stwalkerster [ talk ] 12:58, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Looks like you marked some as done too, and editing their userpage / talkpage presents me with "User account 'X' is not registered." Stwalkerster [ talk ] 13:03, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, must be a bug in mediawiki then, because when I tried to register the accounts, the form said the names were already in use. So I presumed someone had already registered them. Sorry about that Foxy Loxy Pounce! 13:27, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

I'd recommend checking out books on Political geography and Nationalism for a general overview on how countries are formed. Unfortunately, I do not have any good references off hand but those topics should provide some good information.--droptone (talk) 18:11, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Seeyou
Yes, I'd bet that Seeyou is more proficient in Dutch than English. Sadly, it appears Seeyou wants to go to ArbCom writing in broken English rather than getting some help. --Ronz (talk) 00:31, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- You could try and get someone to communicate with Seeyou in Dutch anyway, it may help, or it may not. Outside of that, I can't think of what to do. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 00:41, 15 November 2008 (UTC)

Fl, I would like to thank you for your participation in my recent Request for Adminship, which passed with 112 supports, 4 opposes and 5 neutrals. A special mention goes out to Stwalkerster and Pedro for nominating me, thanks a lot for having trust in me! In response to the neutrals, I will try to double check articles that have been tagged for speedy deletion before I CSD them and will start off slowly with the drama boards of ANI and AN to ensure that I get used to them. In response to the oppose !votes on my RfA, I will check that any images I use meet the non-free content criteria and will attempt to handle any disputes or queries as well as I can. If you need my help at all, feel free to simply ask at my talk page and I'll see if I can help. Once again, thank you for your participation, and have a great day! :) The Helpful One 22:17, 25 November 2008 (UTC) |

There's probably still a case for deleting this, but I'd like to remind you to check the history for articles before nominating them for speedy. In this case the version you tagged was a vandalised one. - Mgm|(talk) 10:52, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
- *headdesk* I swore I checked that one, it must have been lost in the histories of the other articles I has checking from Special:ShortPages. Thankyou for informing me and happy editing! Foxy Loxy Pounce! 07:36, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

If you know about this sort of thing, could you please have a look at Template:Location map polarx and see what's wrong - for example, witness Alert, Nunavut. I'm using IE, User:Soap seems to be using Firefox, so I don't think it's a browser issue. Thanks, Shem (talk) 13:14, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely sure what the problem with the template is, if it was the overlap between the Coordinates template and the map, I have purged the page's cache and the text no longer overlaps (although the globe image does a tiny bit). If there is another problem, you will need to be more specific on what that problem is. Thankyou and happy editing! Foxy Loxy Pounce! 22:37, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- Foxy, thanks for getting back to me. It's all fixed now, and was caused by a bot adjusting a template used by Location map polarx. Sorry to have disturbed you! Yours, Shem (talk) 22:43, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Potential new dispute resolution process
Hi Foxy Loxy. What do you think of my idea for a new option for dispute resolution? I'm going to need some help putting it together if it's going to get anywhere. PSWG1920 (talk) 21:41, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- It seems like a good start, you might want to bring it up at the Village Pump (proposals) and outline what you hope to achieve and you may receive some help from interested editors. Foxy Loxy Pounce! 22:42, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
- I've actually already done that, here. PSWG1920 (talk) 22:59, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
