Regarding the message left at User talk:76.211.11.227

[edit]

The comment I left was at the talk page of an IP address. It referred to this edit, which attempted to assert that the University of Akron Zips would be playing the Syracuse Orangemen in the International Bowl, which was untrue. I reverted the edit, and left a warning on the talk page of the anonymous user who made the edit.

More than likely, you saw the message because you were using a shared IP address, which can be shared by a few, to hundreds or thousands of users within the span of a few months. In fact, shared IP addresses may be reassigned every time you reload a page!

See Proxy server for more info. Hopefully, I've adequately answered your question. If you have any questions, please contact me at my talk page. Ian Manka 04:41, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
