The article Mayor of Bergen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Highly vague -- Bergen? See Bergen (disambiguation)#Places. Whatever the city is, this concept would work better a portion of a "City government" section of the city's page.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Glenfarclas (talk) 12:16, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
I got it
[edit]I will move the article to the Bergen article under the Administration section. Thanks for the information. It is nicer to know before it all happens(: And..maybe you could help me with keeping the article in the Bergen article..
As I disagree with your latest edit, I have raised the issue at the talk page. Please take part in the discussion to form a consensus. Regards, --Kjetil_r 16:26, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Barcode Project
[edit]A tag has been placed on Barcode Project requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Eeekster (talk) 21:23, 21 January 2010 (UTC)
January 2010
[edit]Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Barcode Project. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:01, 22 January 2010 (UTC)

File source and copyright licensing problem with File:Slyngstad 2008 1.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Slyngstad 2008 1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 02:18, 23 February 2010 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fred the Oyster (talk) 02:18, 23 February 2010 (UTC)

Jens Stoltenberg photo
[edit]I won't edit war over it, but why do you insist on using the other photo in the infobox? I'd say his pose in the new one is not that great, it kind of looks like he is being shot in the back, and it's a bit overexposed. We could keep it, but move it down to, say the prime minister section. The other one is a featured picture, which is considered one of the finest images on Commons, and it fits the infobox quite nicely. Let me know what you think. Copyright problems with File:Stoltenberg.jpg
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, File:Stoltenberg.jpg, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.norden.org/en/news-and-events/images/people/ministers/norway/jens-stoltenberg-2166/view. As a copyright violation, File:Stoltenberg.jpg appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. File:Stoltenberg.jpg has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License (CC-BY-SA) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at File talk:Stoltenberg.jpg and send an email with the message to permissions-enwikimedia.org. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that it is licensed under the CC-BY-SA license, leave a note at File talk:Stoltenberg.jpg with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you hold the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the CC-BY-SA and GFDL, and note that you have done so on File talk:Stoltenberg.jpg.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright concerns very seriously, and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Thank you. Kjetil_r 23:15, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Your photos
[edit]You have uploaded a number of photos, claiming that they are your own work[1]. Are you sure that they are? For example, File:NewOslo.jpg is depicting buildings still not erected. If this indeed is your own work, you have quite good photoshopping skills – like a trained professional with years of experience. --Kjetil_r 23:23, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
- Not only that, you appear to have taken File:Stoltenberg.jpg at exactly the same time, with exactly the same camera make, lens, aperture, shutter speed, etc... Maybe not... Ronhjones (Talk) 21:01, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
- Since there has been no response here. I have deleted all your uploaded images as copyvios. Rettetast (talk) 08:54, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Not the right way to do things
[edit]I reverted your making a redirect of the page Oslo City. Just because you created another stub page which you think is better or whatever other reason you had for making a new page doesn't justify nullifying the efforts made by previous editors in creating the already existing page. __meco (talk) 21:08, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
AfD nomination of List of Norwegian national agencies
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is List of Norwegian national agencies. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Norwegian national agencies. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 16 March 2010 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Barcode Project
[edit]This article duplicates Bjørvika, as I discovered when looking at the sources to find out where the title came from. The existing article refers to the new projects and so all that is needed is to add the latest references and names of project buildings to it. No new article is warranted. If you want to do the honors and update Bjørvika with the latest references, great; otherwise I'll do it. Meanwhile, I'm letting you know as creator and main editor on Barcode Project; please join the discussion at the AfD page. Yngvadottir (talk) 18:45, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page Barcode Project (Oslo). Blank pages can confuse readers, and are overall not helpful to the Wikipedia project; furthermore, blanking a page is not the same as deleting it.
If the article you blanked is a duplicate of another article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the appropriate deletion process. File copyright problem with File:Per Borten.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Per Borten.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Speedy deletion nomination of Oslo School of Management
[edit]A tag has been placed on Oslo School of Management requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 02:19, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Norwegian University of Sport and Physical Education, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Copyright problem: Christian August Selmer
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Christian August Selmer, but we regretfully cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. This article appears to contain material copied from http://snl.no/.nbl_biografi/Christian_Selmer/utdypning, and therefore to constitute a violation of Wikipedia's copyright policies. The copyrighted text has been or will soon be deleted. While we appreciate contributions, we must require all contributors to understand and comply with our copyright policy. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously, and persistent violators are liable to be blocked from editing.
If you believe that the article is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under license allowed by Wikipedia, then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author to release the text under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Christian August Selmer and send an email with confirmation of permission to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". Make sure you quote the exact page name, Christian August Selmer, in your email. See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted "under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License (CC-BY-SA), version 3.0", or that the material is released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Christian August Selmer with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License and GNU Free Documentation License, and note that you have done so on Talk:Christian August Selmer. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for instructions.
It may also be necessary for the text be modified to have an encyclopedic tone and to follow Wikipedia article layout. For more information on Wikipedia's policies, see Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
If you would like to begin working on a new version of the article you may do so at this temporary page. Leave a note at Talk:Christian August Selmer saying you have done so and an administrator will move the new article into place once the issue is resolved. Thank you, and please feel welcome to continue contributing to Wikipedia. Happy editing! Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- Hello. On March 30th, another editor noted that this article appeared to contain substantial content translated directly from [2]. See Wikipedia:Copyright problems/2013 March 31. As an administrator who works the copyright problems board, I am looking into this, and I'm sorry to see that you were not notified as you should have been, nor was the article flagged. Both of these are meant to help clarify copyright issues before issues are closed.
- I do see that it looks likely they published the content early - the very first change you made to the article (here) altered the word "Rod" which is still in use in that external source. If they copied it from us, they would have either had to have done so within those couple of hours or they would have had to change it back. This seems unlikely. On the other hand, I also cannot confirm publication of this material before 2013. I cannot verify that they have a compatible license on this article, although it seems they do on some. Where they do, they indicate as much below the "cite this article" parameter.
- If you are able to clarify the origin of this content, it would be much appreciated. We do not like to lose content unnecessarily, but we do have to make sure that content is properly licensed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 12:56, 10 May 2013 (UTC)
- It seems that Frederik Stang is also a copyright problem, with material taken from the same source. As it was published elsewhere in February 2009, more than a year before you added the content to Wikipedia, it is easy to verify that the copyright issues are substantial here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:38, 15 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
