Fishing,
I'm not sure about the inclusion on this in every US state. It doesn't appear NPOV to selectivly list Protestantism and not also link, for example List of Catholicism by US State or List of Buddhism by US State. I'd reverted two before I noticed the pattern, I've made notes on the talk pages of those articles.

Aaron,
If the other List of Catholicism by US State or List of Buddhism by US State or List of Jews by US State or List of Muslims by US State were included then it should not be NPOV. Please reinstate the List of Protestantism by US State as it is rather useful to see where the concentration of religious groups are. I have only done the Protestants but maybe someone else could do the others.
- I've reverted the rest. There are no sources cited, and numbers don't agree with other published numbers (see Texas for example). Also, the maps are a problem. First one is likely a copyright violation. Second one is a rip-off of Image:2004 US elections purple counties.png with some edits. There already is information on religion on each U.S. State article. Perhaps a single page showing rankings of states in each religion could be useful, but the form of the page needs to change drasticly. And Wikipedia:Cite sources! Oh, and WTF is with Category:Protestants by US Presidential Electoral Votes?? That doesn't even make any sense. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 14:53, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
Point taken that it might be better to have a table, but no copyright violations have occured as they are all self made maps using other maps as templates. Figures used are the ones given in Wikipedia apart from Texas, which was based on the book "Operation World" 21st Century Edition by Patrick Johnstone and Jason Mandryk!! Assuming there are no copyright issues, the map of the States could be included. The County map can be removed. Regarding Protestants by US Presidential Electoral Votes, shows a direct link between those states with greater than 60% Protestant population and voting Republican in 2004 General Election. Maybe the title can be changed to make more sense. Apologizes for any mistakes made.
- Operation World? "When We Pray God Works"? Not exactly an unbiased source. Also, with the maps, what you have described is a derived work, the original copyright of the map applies to works you derive from it. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 18:18, 9 November 2005 (UTC)
The file File:Map of the US States by percentage of Protestant population.GIF has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned map.
