Ah-ha

Hiya Proto. I actually started a user page for habitable planets in fiction and then stumbled across Planets in science fiction. I added the Memory Alpha link there and reference the page in the first note on Planetary habitability.

It seems we've both had featured article success :). Congrats. And I hope you enjoyed Madrid. I spent all of three hours there once upon a time waiting for a train to Barcelona. Something of a blur now. Marskell 09:51, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Shoe Polish (congratulations)

Congratulations on Shoe polish reaching featured article status! I'm going to be out of town until after the Thanksgiving weekend; I'll have to donate the bounty payment after that. Good job, and good luck with future edits. -- Creidieki 16:21, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

And another thing!

Do you want an admin nom? Maybe I'm not looking right but it appears you're not one. I'm not one either, and I'm admittedly neither here nor there on the topic, but I assumed in talking to you today I was talking to an admin and subsequently thought "perhaps this fellow should be nominated." Let me know, Marskell 22:51, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Hello again. I'm going to be intermittent for about five weeks. However, I'll be checking in and don't want you to suppose the warning on my user page means "don't contact at all." If you want a nom I'll be around regular enough to provide one. Cheers, Marskell 21:38, 27 November 2005 (UTC)

had had

I noticed this on your user page and wondered if you had seen this.  ;-) --hydnjo talk 15:49, 24 November 2005 (UTC)

OK, now I know that you had had the site on your on your computer. --hydnjo talk 16:56, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for your support

Bonjour, Proto. Ça va? I want to thank you very much for your support for my RfA, and for your kind words. It's very flattering to get support from people who don't see eye to eye with me on article content. And I must congratulate you, too. I see that shoe polish is now a featured article. I'm busy with assignments at the moment, but I might have a look at that article next week. (I promise not to annoy you by adding any "had hads" to it!) Also, I've just seen the semicolon on your Babel template. Hope you don't mind if I steal it for my user page some time! Salut. AnnH (talk) 18:53, 25 November 2005 (UTC)

Shoe polish

Congrats in getting Shoe polish featured! Hope this motivates you to get some more articles featured. :) (PS Please excuse the late reply. Don't have much times these days) Regards, =Nichalp «Talk»= 04:40, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

Solihull sixth form college

I'm curious why you reverted the speedy delete notice. The original material included a post code which was certainly not the post code of any Solihull School building - in fact much closer to the Tudor Grange School campus. In addition the source material came from an IP address which had been responsible for much vandalism over several articles. From this I concluded that the information was suspect in quality and was not in any way related to Solihull School. Any views before I put it back on speedy delete ? Edit count

There are 2 lists: the first one counts only your article edits, while the other counts all of your contributions Lectonar 15:22, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

I never clear out my talk page (I like the fun); and I don't know about being a boy at 40.... -Lectonar 15:34, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Boothyisms

I'd like to let it lie, but I have some sort of allergy towards those who try to force their views upon others, and it feels like Ral315 does this alot, even though he's a valuable contributor otherwise. I stopped contributing to Signpost solely because of that. Ultimately, I think a mediation would be appropriate, but he opposed my entry to the Mediation Committee, so that'd probably be a biased arena. karmafist 17:20, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi Proto,

Thanks for voting to support my RfA. I wasn't expecting an unopposed promotion (I thought I'd hit some die-hard edit-counters at least) and I'm touched by the trust shown in me. I'll try my best to continue to earn that trust. But first, I'll have to work on not sounding like a politician; that last sentence was awful. Oh well. Let me know when I screw something up with the shiny new buttons. —Bunchofgrapes (talk) 06:03, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

Arb Com Election

Thank you for your question! Hopefully my answer will have cleared up everything. karmafist 16:19, 3 December 2005 (UTC)

Biomedical Engineering

Hi, this is just a note i wanted to leave after viewing your userpage. Although i have 3 years of highschool to go, i am interested in becoming a biomedical engineer. I have read the article and found that a need for this job will increase in later years. At the moment, if you consider that a degree takes a minimum of 3 years but a max of 5, it would be likely for me to need a job in the year 2012-2014. At this time, will there be a need for significantly more jobs or not? And just a thought- how may biomedical endineers are female? I also thought i must say that my brother and i thought the Hitler picture and caption was extremely funny, the best on Wikipedia, it had us laughing for days! :) Thanks --Ali K 07:50, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
