Help me!

[edit]

Hello, I am trying to change the name of the page I have created but I don't know how. It is currently showing as User:FireText SMS but i'd like it to just read FireText. Am I able to do this?

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:FireText SMS, from its old location at User:FireText SMS. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Chrisw80 (talk) 11:57, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please change your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "FireText", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. -- samtar whisper 12:38, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have been trying to compose it similar to this one: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textlocal which uses the business name. Can I use FireText SMS? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FireText (talkcontribs)

The issue itself isn't with the article FireText, but with your username on Wikipedia. Usernames must not be the name of a company - please pick a new username. Your name + FireText would be a good start -- samtar whisper 12:45, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ah ok, I thought you meant the article name! Happy to change the user name to my name just didn't want it to affect the page name :) My page has now been deleted, are you able to help me change the name to Holly at FireText so I can repost it FireText (talk) 13:53, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sure! Please see this form for details -- samtar whisper 13:55, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much

FireText (talk) 13:57, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You do still have a copy of the article you are creating located at Draft:FireText SMS. If FireText SMS not the best name for the final article that draft article can be moved to a new article name once it has been approved, without having to start it all over. --| Uncle Milty | talk | 14:17, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW @FireText: As a Cornish editor, I'd be interested in how this article turns out - it might not be notable as of yet, but I'll see if there's anything I can add to help it pass muster -- samtar whisper 14:26, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Samtar: thank you!

@Samtar: Thank you for your suggestions, I've added some further details and references. Holly at FireText (talk) 12:15, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
