Not rude at all! I have Riana's page watched, and I saw your comment. I just figured I could have it dealt with quickly seeing as Riana wasn't online. If this should happen again, just report directly to WP:AIV. There's no need to give warnings for this type of blatant disruption. Cheers! Flyguy649talkcontribs19:14, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding the Question you Left
Well, I hope you realise I'm not an admin, either. I haven't looked at your contributions, so these comments are somewhat general. I'd suggest you look at recent successful and unsuccessful Requests for Adminship (links are at the top of that page) to see what people are looking for from admin candidates. I think it is a must to be WP:CIVIL all the time. Contribute to the writing of articles (even tidying/Gnoming). Many editors like to see contributions to Wikipedia space. Always use the edit summary, at least in mainspace contributions. Warn appropriately. Contribute to the article talk pages if you're doing something major or potentially controversial in an article. Have fun. Don't look like you're out specifically to become an admin (some people get bashed for wanting adminship too much. Be sure that you can demonstrate that the adminship tools would be necessary to you. Anyway, I hope that helps. Good luck, and drop me a note if you need a hand with anything! Thanks for the offer! I have a couple of other editors that have offered as well (see the thread on my talk page). If you'd like, I can let you know when I'm ready to do an RfA. But I'm too busy in real life at the moment. CHeers, Flyguy649talkcontribs19:31, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A tag has been placed on LFC TV, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 172.131.112.25401:41, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Chaza93, a little while ago you came to the rescue when I was pitifully begging for barnstars for a poor wikiproject. Like a complete swine, I didn't get back to you or the other kind editor who came up with a design. Sorry for that, I've been busy assessing articles and otherwise ignoring my watchlist. I like your award design - the Cambodia medal - and think it looks very impressive. Before you got in touch with me, another editor whipped up a couple of stars as well. This left me in the tricky position of either having six different barnstars for the wikiproject (it's a thought) or choosing one kind benefactor over another. Damn! a surplus of helpful Wikipedians. After a bit of a chat with some of the other project members, we have decided to go with this star [1] created by Riffrafselbow. I hope that's Ok and thank you again for whipping up a design for us! Wisden Trophy
Sorry to bother you but I was wondering when you would finish your review on the Wisden Trophy article. I'm quite keen to get some input from someone! Monsta66620:33, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello. Sorry, but I don't really deal with the image space on Wikipedia and refrain from deleting images. But don't worry, although currently backlogged the image is bound to be deleted soon by another reviewing admin. Regards, Húsönd11:33, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
For your excellent work and enthusiasm when it comes to creating award templates, inparticular with the Anti-vandal barnstar experiments. Happy editing! Lradrama15:18, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
i understand what your are saying but can i point out that i did not add the numbers i simply moved them into cronological order as 30 and 32 were below 89. AfTaDaRkCrU20:57, 6 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
2002 UEFA Cup Final
Hi I noticed on your page you said you did peer reviews, i was wondering if you could review 2002 UEFA Cup Final, it is up for nomination for a good article, and your input will be greatly appreciated. NapHit16:18, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, thanks for offering to make the australian barnstar. You look very skilled in that area. I just wanted to say that it was already made ages ago and was added only recently. If you have already made the barnstar or you are nearly finished, add it to wikipedia and we can have 2 (The other one is just a medal). To see it, please search this page WP:AUS. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness, Chicken-706:42, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Re:Barnstar de la Peace
Hello, thanks for the notice. The barnstar in question was not in fact thought of by me - it was User:Defender 911's idea. I was going to ask if you'd contacted him, but it seems he's been blocked for some reason, so that would apparently be a "no". Anyway...
I suppose it would be nice for the barnstar to be kept somehow, simply because I don't want my work designing it to go to waste. Would it be possible for us to re-word the awarding criteria so it's not as similar? Hersfold(t/a/c)00:42, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've removed the default message. Perhaps we could use something along the lines of "Awarded to users who remain calm in the face of conflict and can peacefully resolve any situation." One thing I noticed is that the Civility Award only really mentions showing good civility - it doesn't actually require a user to resolve any conflicts with that civility. Vandal barnstar
Sorry this process is taking such a long time :-( . I always end up with a thousand things to do when I log onto Wikipedia and it's easy to foget certain things. Thanks for your helpful comments, but I'm still just a bit confused. Do I use the same talkpage to discuss the matter (i.e. the Wikiproject Awards one)? Lradrama12:49, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What you posted in the Premier League 2007-08 article could be perceived as a threat. Please try not to say things that could be construed as threatening in the future. - PeeJay19:02, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
EPL Results table
I'm not 100% sure if it will work, but if you give me a few minutes, I will endeavour to find out. I'll give you an update when I finish, but I'd point something out - I'm no code wizard, I just butcher code from other places and put it to my own use. I'm 99% sure it can be done effectively enough, but I may well not be the man that can do it. Just depends how tough it is. Falastur219:42, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Seems the consensus is turning away from colours at all. Perhaps it would be easier to live with the original.
I looked into the coding, btw, but the template which stores it is beyond me. I can understand how it's working, but not well enough to dare make any changes. Incidentally, it has #FFFFFF set as the background colour, but I believe there's a broken link in there, or something. I'm going to speak to ClaudioMB about it, but it really is beyond me to fix myself. Falastur220:10, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Re. Admin Ship
Hello El-Nin09 and thank you for contacting me (and for the compliment). Tomorrow I'll make a quick review of your contributions in order to give you my opinion on your current preparedness for an RfA. But, here's a first thought, and I'll be quite frank about it: you must be more careful with your spelling. Administrators are usually regarded as the face of the Wikipedia community. Writing mistakes often denote carelessness, and that certainly wouldn't look well on the face of Wikipedia... Regards, Húsönd01:41, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Barnstar/Infobox creation
Hi, I was thinking of making a barnstar and infobox for the Cruft Eater Squad. I have specific ideas, and I was hoping i could bounce them off you? Drop me a line on my Talk page or via email (which would be easier, as I can attach image ideas), and we can begin All The Fun. :) - Arcayne(cast a spell)13:42, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I reviewed it and I'm afraid it's a fail. I have, however, made several suggestions on the talk page as to how to go about remedying it. Let me know if I can help further. The Rambling Man16:30, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Paris Final 2006.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Re. Admin Help
Erm, honestly I'm not convinced yet. I think that you could be more perfectionist when it comes to writing. Regards, Húsönd21:01, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, thanks for your message, not to worry. Let me know exactly which comments you need me to expand upon and I'll gladly explain what I mean, and if you need me to, I'll also happily modify the article accordingly. However, if I make a large number of edits then we'll have to ensure another editor reviews it because I wouldn't want it to become a conflict of interest. Anyway, let me know what you're having problems with and I'll try to get us going with the solutions! All the best. The Rambling Man19:34, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, we're in luck because this event should be heavily covered by good sources like the BBC, The Times, The Independent and other such sources. What I'm looking for is something that verifies the important claims you make. For example, there's a sentence that reads"
Only 52 seconds into the match, Paolo Maldini scored for Milan as he volleyed the ball into Jerzy Dudek's net the bounce seemed to decieve Dudek[33].
I need you to do three things here.
Provide a source that says Maldini scored on 52 seconds.
Provide a source that says Dudek was deceived by the bounce.
Spell decieve correctly, i.e. deceive.
A good thing to consider is that if anything you write can be disputed, then you should add a citation. That should start you off. Let me know if you need more... The Rambling Man19:43, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, the BBC clockwatch is a good start. I'm sure if you check the UEFA website you'll find some more citations. The more diverse the better... The Rambling Man20:18, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Image speedy deletion
Hello. You have recently tagged a couple of barnstar-related images for speedy deletion saying they are redundant. This is to be understood in a fairly strict sense: an image is redundant if it is a bit for bit copy of another image, not because it serves the same sort of purpose. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson03:47, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't heard back from you regarding the barnstar creation initially discussed here and described in email. Were you working on it? I was because it's been over a week since i heard from you....- Arcayne(cast a spell)17:18, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see what you mean. It was a really good idea, but you can't own an idea. It's been taken up by someone else and the poll is being run a little longer. I'm gonna sound really harsh here, but don't throw your toys out of the pram. - PeeJay19:52, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'll really do pretty much anything besides graphics (me no like). My preference would be maintenance of the pages/awards (seeing how the discussion page is quite crowded), or any other administrator-type work. If this isn't possible, just give me a list of things to get done and I'll work on it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Erik212 (talk • contribs) 03:45, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed you replied to my intial comment on the licensed teams. Do you want to help me clean the whole article up a bit? Starting with deleting the "licensed teams" :p — jacĸrм ( talk | sign ) 20:49, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, even the reference for the international teams is gone. Shall we just remove all teams and put it is not yet confirmed which teams will be in the game or which teams are licensed? — jacĸrм ( talk | sign ) 21:10, 15 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
