Talk page
[edit]Please do not dominate your talk page with a quiz, especially one of this size. It's here as a convenient way for editors to contact you, and per WP:TALK, you should keep it as tidy as possible to allow users, especially new users, to access it. See WP:USER for user page guidelines and information about using your userspace to host this sort of content. Thanks, PeterSymonds (talk) 22:05, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

Reason for what I do weird
[edit]By weird I mean "accidentally violating WP:USERPAGE by having a little fun. If I had a website (hard to make), I would give it wiki formatting (really hard to do), and put everything there. Happy, right? I just wish I could have my own website. I'm never stooping low enough to use a real social network. This is where the intellectuals chat and edit. I'm sorry for having my own subpages that are irrelevant. Don't put it up for deletion, just explain why there's a Department of Humor and nonsensical userboxes. I'll give up rollback if people would just leave my miscellany alone. How can there be vandalspaces, but not pages for one's own amusement. I don't want to fall prey to oddballs on other sites. Yes, I am rather passionate about my userspace. It's like a bedroom. You can should be able to put whatever you wish there. Now that I say it, it does sound more like a blog when I put it that way. But why is Wikipedia so few things, while it isn't anything else? Anyone who stumbles across this could please explain why this is. Please do. 2D/2J Maestro what up? 22:52, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- I never said it was disallowed; I said it was discouraged. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and the primary purpose of editing here is to help build and maintain it. Editors who set up fun pages often lose perspective of what their purpose here actually is. Create the odd page in user space, okay, but don't let editing "fun" pages overtake your encyclopedia work (WP:MYSPACE). Don't create excessive fun pages, as they'll probably be deleted; remember that your user space is there primarily for helping the encyclopedia (userspace drafts, relevant templates for userpage), not fun pages. In short: A couple of fun pages is okay, but don't go overboard, and don't spend more time on these than the encyclopedia itself. PeterSymonds (talk) 23:53, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit].. for the barnstar. Unfortunately I can't claim credit for the poem it was B00P that came up with it. By the way what did I do yesterday that caught your attention? something lame from CBW 13:42, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
- Ah I never thought of that. It's just a play on the job I do, weather recording. Cheers. something lame from CBW 13:47, 21 March 2010 (UTC)

Adding to guestbook list

Rule 5
[edit]Listen, i know rule 5 of the DAFT page, and i (sort of) agree with it.
The article 'fake cheese' was not made by me. I'll admit i have tried that tactic before on articles such as "what to to when they don't know you have a screwdriver" or "Wheeee! I can do i too", just not this one, honest.
Also, i know the rules, it's not edit warring until i do it at least 3 times, plus, you'd be reporting yourself, because it takes two to edit war.

Be contrary to my name? Tell me, do you judge all wiki users by their username?
Also, i don't/didn't delete those prefab messages to 'make them go away', they just genuinely annoy me, hence the message at the top of my talk page.
FYI, i do constructive edits far more than i do funny ones. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bully25 (talk • contribs) 13:24, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Haha, fair enough.
I'm not actually a bully, on Wiki or IRL, it's just a name —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bully25 (talk • contribs) 23:22, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Umm...
[edit]I don't know what that last message was about but it was a mixture of incoherent, petty and antagonistic. I don't mind people having a go at me in a constructive way, but calling me scared of prefab messages is not that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bully25 (talk • contribs) 17:08, 18 April 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Most of huggles reporting of vandals are automatic... but I just wanna be sure... WP:Administrator intervention against vandalism is a Wikipedia page devoted for reporting vandals, WP:Request for page protection is a Wikipedia page devoted to requests for a type of protection? Just to be clear. Thanks Tommy2010 21:49, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
re:Pokemon References
[edit]Those are different, because some use {{Cite video game}}, while some use the {{Pokedex}} template. Yes, adding information from the Pokedex is perfectly fine. Pretty much, Lists have the same layout as the split articles.
- 1. Intro, Design, and Characteristics (referenced by Pokedex)
- 2. Games, Anime, Manga (referenced by the games, anime, and manga themsleves)
- 3. Other/Promotion/Reception (referenced by third party reliable sources)
I guess remove the banner when you feel it is no longer necessary. Maybe when the list has 20+ references? (By the way, (410-420)) needs MAJOR expansion. Blake (Talk·Edits) 15:28, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
Hey 2D Backfire Master, thanks for signing my guestbook! Regarding your comment on the 717 — it does exist :). A little over 150 were built. It was originally to be the MD-95 before McDonnell Douglas merged with Boeing. Cheers! Airplaneman ✈ 22:21, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Greetings 2D Backfire Master - I saw that you'd helped out another editor archiving his/her talk page so am hoping that you might find the time and/or interest in doing same for me. When reading the instructions it seemed really easy to get MiszaBot to do things for me but I even goofed up there. It's all in a good cause... Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 18:05, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

Wanna Barnstar?
[edit]Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. Homework2 TalkWhat I do! 03:27, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer granted
[edit]Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.
When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. –xenotalk 17:04, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Warning vandals
[edit]Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made to Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. MrStalker (talk) 13:33, 21 June 2010 (UTC)
Greetings and thanks...
[edit]Greetings 2D Backfire Master and many thanks for offering to archive my talk page. I will take you up on your kind offer - could we make it a sort of standing offer? - 'cos I did once have a go at it and it didn't work out so I sort of gave up, having other more pressing things to sort out. It's waaay down on my to-do list. Let me know if there's anything you think I can do to return the favour. Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 20:04, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! Only thing that occurs to me is if you want any copyediting - or should that be copy-editting? ;) - done on a page you've created. Cheers! --Technopat (talk) 19:21, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

Old signatures...
[edit]don't change after a rename. If someone wants to change them, they have to run AWB and change them manually, which is a major pain, so I've elt mine sit. They're two months old now at a minimum, so they're pretty rarely seen, I'd believe, anyway. Courcelles (talk) 12:51, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
