What strikes me as the most obvious issue with the current version is the sheer number of sub-headings. Many of these sub-sections can easily be merged together, as I have done.
It appears that the current version is an attempt to maintain a "chronological order" (or at least, to follow the Biblical order of events). Whilst I agree that this is good general approach, I do not believe that rigid adherence makes a good article. Some events that are seperated in time can readily be dealt with together.
I am removing the many references to specific chapters. The introduction shows where the text can be found. If anyone wishes to insert specific references for specific events, that's fine, but I think they should be as inline cites.
