[edit]

You appear to be persisting in adding large numbers of disambiguation link errors to articles. Please be careful to check your links to be sure that you are not linking to disambiguation pages. In the future, I may revert edits that add such errors, and invite you to try again without these errors. Cheers! bd2412 T 15:05, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm not sure why you would revert contributions simply because a portion of the links go to disambiguation pages. That argument leaves a lot of uncertainty and interpretation. How many links are OK to leave undisambiguated on a page? Is it the sole responsibility of the editor who makes the edit to have all the links properly piped? How long is it OK for them to remain undisambiguated before they get reverted? This is an ongoing project; progress, as you well know, is always incremental. I believe my contributions on this point are incremental — not perfect. You are an expert on disambiguation, so I will leave interpretation to you.
From a practical personal perspective: I cannot do all the proper linking up front at present because my time is limited and will be for the foreseeable future (I'm quite slow at disambiguating at the moment; been out of practice for a long time). I have wanted to get all the data into the tables for a while now. I'm placing the links (instead of not linking at all) so I can go back afterward and disambiguate quicker (with a helper website presumably). There is a cadre of disambiguators who have offered me guidance about disambiguating, and who are much faster and better disambiguators than I, and I will use them as a resource when I return to finish the links. I would welcome any advice you could give me about how to best, and in a quick manner, fix the links once I return to them (some time in late February).
However, if you think it is really necessary to revert, then I will consider leaving all the links out, which I think will hamper the Project Ice Hockey overall. Thanks. Fdssdf (talk) 03:27, 25 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
