Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to Armenia, Azerbaijan, or related conflicts, a topic designated as contentious. This standard message is designed as an introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
Extended-confirmed required
[edit]It has come to my attention that you have recently started to edit in articles related to Armenia and Azerbaijan. This editing area is under a community imposed extended-confirmed restriction, specifically "Politics, ethnic relations, and conflicts involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, or both—broadly construed and explicitly including the Armenian genocide—are placed under an extended confirmed restriction." Your number of edits is below the threshold for editing in the area, thus you cannot currently edit in articles and content under the scope of WP:GS/AA. Please refrain from doing so, any edits you have done since this restriction was implemented should be reverted, I will take the liberty of reverting wherever it's appropriate. - Kevo327 (talk) 07:44, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

. signed, Rosguill talk 17:08, 12 October 2023 (UTC)- Per the above warnings, editors are expected to be on their best behavior when engaging with Armenia-Azerbaijan related topics. Accusing other editors of being children, among other belligerent accusations that you have made at Talk:Flight of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians, will not be tolerated, and will result in harsher sanctions if repeated. signed, Rosguill talk 17:12, 12 October 2023 (UTC)

Request reason:
How can someone be accused of being children? It was a rhetoric question said in a manner to specify how child like and imperfect such view is and how unacceptable it is in current circumstance - children use to say that someone is more correct than the other one and then proceed to only protect the side they consider as a "correct" one. No one was accused of being a child, nor was it ever meant or said as a way to offend or attack someone. I hope misunderstandings like this will be resolved soon and if it really somehow was seen as an attack and really offended someone, I am open for a dialogue at anytime.Faxrib (talk) 17:24, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Call it rhetoric if you want, but it's still not permitted. Editing in topic areas designated as contentious requires participants to be on their absolute best behavior. You shouldn't use rhetoric that could be intepreted as an accusation or attack, even if you don't intend it that way. We can't see you to judge your meaning, we can only go by what you type. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 17:31, 12 October 2023 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
