Checkuser

I ran the checkuser query you requested. In my opinion, it's highly likely that user:Raunak matches the sockpuppetry cluster described in Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/RRaunak Raul654 (talk) 04:52, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

ACC guide format suggestion

Can you take a peek at User:Noah_Salzman/accguide? I added a little structured formatting to the ACC Guide and wanted someone to say "yay or nay" before I updated the actual ACC Guide page. Since the page is basically a technical manual I thought it would be easier to follow with bulleted lists instead of long paragraphs. Thanks, Noah 21:26, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Alright, looks good! Go ahead and subst it in. Cheers, FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 03:06, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

First off, I apologize for the spam. You are receiving this message because you have indicated that you are in Southern California or interested in Southern California topics (either via category or WikiProject).

I would like to invite you to the Los Angeles edition of Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art, a photography scavenger hunt to be held at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 1:00 to 7:00 PM. All photos are intended for use in Wikipedia articles or on Wikimedia Commons. There will be a prize available for the person who gets the most photos on the list.

If you don't like art, why not come just to meet your fellow Wikipedians. Apparently, we haven't had a meetup in this area since June 2006!

If you are interested in attending, please add your name to Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art#Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Please make a note if you are traveling to the area (train or plane) and need transportation, which can probably be arranged via carpool, but we need time to coordinate. Lodging is as of right now out of scope, but we could discuss that if enough people are interested.

Thank you and I hope to see you there! howcheng {chat} 23:52, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

I would be happy to come, but school will probably get in the way. I will try to make arrangements, but it is most likely that I will not be able to come. Thanks for the invitation, though! --FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 06:58, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
As it turns out, Wikipedia Loves Art runs the entire month of February. So if you can't get there for the group event, you could always go on your own sometime, if that appeals to you. howcheng {chat} 23:24, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Account Creation Interface

I was hoping that you could possibly give me some information. I have Account Creator privileges, and I have been using the Account Creation Interface for a little while now, in fact, you approved me to use the software. A couple of days ago, I tried to log in to use the program, and found out that my account had been temporary suspended. I did not know why, and I decided to wait until the suspension was up and find out what I had done wrong. It had given me a message as part of the main page. Now it goes to a blank white page and says "I'm sorry, but, your account is presently suspended." I was hoping you could shed some light on what I did wrong, so that I will not make the same mistake again. Thanks,

-- RandorXeus. Remember to Be Bold! 03:34, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

It seems that you are describing an odd bug. To tell you the truth, I really don't know why the format of the suspended page changed. The reason why you were suspended is because you were filling requests in 17 seconds, which was deemed too fast. Slow down and check the request carefully - if you claim it, no one else will do it. As for unsuspending you, I'll have to ask the admins first. --FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 05:34, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
I could see how that could be an issue. When I got online, there weren't any other account creators online. I figured that I would just go through and check on each of the accounts to see if they were legit all at the same time and then approved/denied. This was why I filled multiple requests all at once. If I get unsuspended, I'll be sure to take time in between the names, and process each name as I check it, instead of trying to do it all at once. Thanks for your help.
-- RandorXeus. Remember to Be Bold! 14:41, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

I was wondering if there was anything I could do to get privileges back, or should I just move on and work on other projects instead of account creation?

-- RandorXeus. Remember to Be Bold! 06:45, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

If you're going to pester someone, you might as well pester Prodego - he is the one that suspended you, after all. --FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 06:56, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia Loves Art new date

Based on participants' votes, Wikipedia Loves Art LACMA has been rescheduled to Saturday, February 21, 2009 starting at 1:00 PM. Unfortunately, I have a prior commitment and cannot attend. I will need someone to be coordinator for that day. Let me know if you are willing. Thanks, and have fun! howcheng {chat} 17:55, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia Loves Art preparations

Are you read for WLA this Saturday? Here are some last minute preparations you should do before you arrive.

  1. Be sure you have a spiral bound memo pad or notebook (and pen) to take notes and to use for writing the accession numbers, which you then have to photograph (see Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art/LACMA rules for details).
  2. Be sure to print out the scavenger hunt list at Wikipedia:Wikipedia Loves Art/LACMA rules/list. You may also wish to visit http://collectionsonline.lacma.org/mwebcgi/mweb.exe?request=onview1 to make a plan of attack.
  3. Since tripods and monopods are not allowed in the museum, consider making a string tripod (not as good as the real thing, but better than nothing).

Additionally, we will plan to eat out afterwards at a nearby dining establishment (TBD) -- hope you can join us for that. And finally, I was able to make arrangements for my daughter so I will be able to attend after all. Looking forward to seeing you there! howcheng {chat} 19:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Account creation interface

At User_talk:FastLizard4/Archive_5#Account_Creation_Interface, you denied my appeal for a denied request for an account to ACC, on the grounds that I had not been editing for long enough, and that I was not experienced enough. I have doubled my number of edits (to 1000), waited a couple of months, and now I am appealing again. Thanks, Fahadsadah (talk) 17:56, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Does details are correct.yousaf465
{{subst:User:FastLizard4/ACC Welcome|denied=true|reason=You have been blocked before and have a history on ANI, if for nothing else, disruptive tagging. The sensitive nature of ACC requires editors that have extremely good histories on Wikipedia. However, if in a few months or so you can show edit stability, we (the ACC administrators) may be willing to reconsider your request.|sig=FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 06:01, 16 March 2009 (UTC)}}
Thanks for looking into it.If I behave correctly, will I be awarded this in future.?yousaf465

For tagging see. [1].Should I contact admins for this ?yousaf465

The issue has already been discussed with the only people who have power on ACC, the tool administrators. For all points and purposes, this decision is final. If you can keep up good behavior and reapply in a few months, you will probably get accepted. --FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 06:05, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

I understand, above was not for reconsidertion right now.It was just to clear the matter.yousaf465

Ahh, sorry for misunderstanding what you were trying to say :). The grounds for the denial is based on the fact that the tagging could be described as disruptive, regardless of whether or not the tagging was correct. --FastLizard4 (TalkIndexSign) 06:10, 20 March 2009 (UTC)
I have learnt alot of lessons including that,it is how you behave not whether you are right or wrong.yousaf465

ACC

I requested access to the tool, but it says: "I'm sorry, but, your account has not been approved by a site administrator yet. Please stand by." What does this mean? Will my account be approved? Dyl@n620 21:39, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

What in the world is ACC? Wheres the link? Lucifer (Talk) 22:21, 26 March 2009 (UTC)

WP:ACC. The link to the registration form is located here. Dyl@n620 22:51, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
It means what it says: You must be approved for access before you can use it. We have rather stringent requirements for users to be accepted, along the lines of 1000+ edits and at the very least about 6 months of experience on Wikipedia, although usually we look for more than 6 months because we don't really need many more people. However, these requirements are not set in stone, and all requests are subject to the personal review of a tool administrator (for the same reason: Because we aren't exactly in need of more help). But, I will review all current requests later this evening when I can get to my home computer, and you will be denied/approved then. In the meantime, you should read the ACC guide to know what to expect if you are approved. Please note that your request is already a little shaky, though, based on GlassCobra's comments here. --FastLizard4SOCK (talk) 17:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
