Zellers Stores
[edit]Sorry about that Farine, I will count the Zellers stores from now on from the HBC Store Locator that is from the reference link (on the infobox). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.69.133.216 (talk) 02:13, 15 August 2012 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:One-life-to-live.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:One-life-to-live.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:37, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
File:User Farine.xcf listed for deletion
[edit]A file that you uploaded or altered, File:User Farine.xcf, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. -- ТимофейЛееСуда. 17:39, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Note
[edit]This was a particularly kind and well reasoned note on your part. I'm sorry it was removed without remark, as I have voiced similar concerns that have not resulted in any change in behavior. I think you were much more diplomatic than I was, and I hope he takes your advice to heart. I'm not terribly active on Wikipedia these days, but I usually check in once or twice a day just to keep an eye on things, maybe make a few gnomish edits. If you see these problems persisting, please let me know because it does make things unpleasant for other users not a part of his clique. Make no mistake, I think Musicfreak7676 is an excellent editor, but good edits don't excuse less than ideal interactions with others. Keep me informed if there are other problems. Program lists.
[edit]Hey...
In all candor, I agree with you that the program lists really didn't need the extra stuff, but when I saw that that the numbers were against me, I then changed tactics to at least having all the major networks be uniform and only using pics of people with major significance to their respective networks.
I probably shouldn't have spoken for you in the talk page, but I saw the writing on the wall and realized I was in a sinking ship, so I just went ahead and relented.
As it turned out, we wound up getting creamed anyway, as the numbers were just too much.
Ya win some, and ya lose some.

Disambiguation link notification for November 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited List of small shopping centres in Montreal, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Dominion Stores and Power centre (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hey, can you cite the refs properly using the cite templates and filling out all possible fields? Regular html-style citations are not enough. - M0rphzone (talk) 06:18, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

New article on Jack Friedman
[edit]Since we're working on THQ, we might as well create an article for Jack Friedman. What do you think? - M0rphzone (talk) 04:39, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- I rarely create articles on Wikipedia anymore. Not to mention that my knowledge of Mr.Friedman is very limited. So I wouldn't be a good contributor in this project.
- But if you want to do it yourself, I say go for it! Jack Friedman certainly meets WP:N. Farine (talk) 04:50, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- I found this obituary from Gamasutra while looking for the Calabasas mention, plus we can use the company refs as well. I'm pretty sure there are books written about him. - M0rphzone (talk) 05:04, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- Whether it's for the Calabasas thing or Friedman, I would stay away from this Gamustra article at all cost. Just seeing how they say that Friedman founded THQ in 1989 automatically tells me that this is not a reliable article. Stick to non-video games sources as much as possible. Video game sources should be used as a last recourse when the information cannot be found in mainstream media, financial newspapers or biographies. Farine (talk) 06:23, 3 December 2012 (UTC)

It's really funny that all these refs say Friedman died at 70 when he was actually born in 1939 and died in 2010. The LA Times title says age 70, but they use his correct birth date, while the Forbes article clearly says he was 71 when he passed. The Jakks press release might be wrong, and the editors/authors never bothered to confirm with his family or verify if the dates add up. Should I add this to the biography talk page as a FAQ notice? - M0rphzone (talk) 05:44, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- The Forbes article was written by a Jakks Pacific employee so you can scratch that source from the start. It is not an acceptable source.
- As for the articles from Jakks Pacific and the LA Times, it is very likely that Friedman was born in 1939, but after May 3rd, meaning that he indeed died at 70.
- The best is to forget about Friedman's age (at least for now), especially since his birth date is not even known. Farine (talk) 06:21, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- Yea I thought that was the case. He was most likely born after May. Here's the draft so far. Can you help me expand it? Thanks - M0rphzone (talk) 07:22, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- No thanks. This is not a topic of any interest to me.

- Your article is great and the sources all seem reliable. The only thing I would removed is the word "genereous" in the "Philantrophy" section because it is POV wording. Not to mention that it is redundant and uneccessary because by being philantropist he logically was generous. But all the rest seems fine to me. Good job! If anybody thinks this article fails notabilty, he or she better come up with some strong arguments because I don't see anything wrong with the article you created (other than the "genererous" word). Farine (talk) 02:37, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback! I've fixed the issues, but how should I expand the lead paragraph/sentence? I think it still doesn't have enough content for the lead or some of the other sections. - M0rphzone (talk) 06:12, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- You don't necessarily need a big content for the lead. One sentence is enough if that's what you find appropriate to put there. It's not uncommon for articles about deceased people to have leads of one sentence. Farine (talk) 06:23, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
- Ok, I've went ahead and submitted the article to mainspace. Thanks for finding some of the refs first in THQ, and for helping with the process. - M0rphzone (talk) 09:42, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Promenades de Sorel
[edit]Hello Farine,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Promenades de Sorel for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Sue Rangell ✍ ✉ 06:04, 16 December 2012 (UTC)
Removing Speedy at Promenades de Sorel
[edit]Hi Farine, you recently removed a deletion tag from Promenades de Sorel. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 06:26, 16 December 2012 (UTC)

Bull-Doser in Malaysia
[edit]Bull-Doser has a likeminded editor in Malaysia - Jack Philip Yong enjoys taking really really bad pictures of cars and his contribution history shows a similar obsession with radio stations. Category:Defunct video game companies
[edit]Okay, sorry for adding those companies in this category. However, they can be considered defunct: Jaleco and Vic Tokai do not operate under those names anymore. Videogamer2000 (talk) 21:14, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- The fact that they no longer use those names do not make them defunct, nor should they be considered as such. By the way, the Jaleco name is still used by the spinoff video game company created in 2006.
- The Category:Defunct video game companies category is far from being empty. No need to add inappropriate companies in it just for the sake of making the category bigger. Cheers. Farine (talk) 01:37, 6 January 2013 (UTC)
