Thank you for the above information. I skimmed through them and could not find how to change an article title when it is ambiguous, as in "The Power of the Press" which could also be a later movie. Can someone help point me in the right direction? --FantasticFive (talk) 14:47, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- Sure thing. Check out WP:Disambiguation and WP:Moving a page. Sindinero (talk) 14:52, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- There would be several options. If one was clearly the main one, The Power of the Press & The Power of the Press (1932), or The Power of the Press (novel), or The Power of the Press (East German film); "Hatnotes" on each could lead to the other(s): 'This article is about the 1928 film; for the 1932 film, see...', or a disambiguation page listing several. See Help:How to move a page, Wikipedia:Moving a page, & Wikipedia:Requested moves for instructions for the procedures; the last is mainly for controversial moves, moves where you're asking for input from others on the new title, or when something already exists there which prevents an ordinary move. Thank you both for responding so quickly. There is actually no article for the later movie. I think it should be retitled to specify it refers to the earlier movie. --FantasticFive (talk) 15:08, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- We deliberately do not disambiguate until necessary; see Wikipedia:Article titles#Precision and disambiguation. Dru of Id (talk) 17:06, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
Thank you and thanks to whoever touched up the article. I'll work harder on the formating next time. FantasticFive (talk) 20:10, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
