Hello, I needed an administrative opinion on a dispute: I recently started editing on wikipedia, with the Leysin American School article that I found lacking in crucial information that was on the formal website but not on the wikipedia page. Taking into account that this was my first editing experience, I utilized well-established pages of academic institutions such as Oxford University, Harvard, and those of other Swiss Boarding institutions such as Beau Soleil and Auf Dem Rosenberg. The Beau Soleil wikipage highlights a phrase from a news site that stated that it is one of the most exclusive schools in the world, while Auf Dem Rosenberg also states that it is among the most expensive schools in the world in its Wikipage, and contains many material that can be considered promotional. According to both, I found it best to also add LAS's financial similar to Rosenberg by stating that it is reportedly among the most expensive schools in the world, which is also how Le Rosey underscores its prestige on its main article page, however, when I did it I unknowingly entered into a dispute with an editor who kept readding information from older sources and redundant tabs, more which you can observe on the discussion we have on that page under, that I found to be not suitable for the article as they did not add any value and nor was shared by any other organisational article on wikipedia. Whereas when I added to include the school's facilities and information about the various campuses was removed. Including the information about trips and cultural excursions on the main wikipage just below the infobox so that its offerings can be briefly viewed, the school's own rail transportation system, and a detail section on academics all sourced directly from their website. All of this information was removed and was threatened with administrative action that could risk my activities being band because they alleged a conflict of interest? Could you please guide me on how to proceed?
- Do you have a conflict of interest? Beware in using other articles as a model or example, as these too could be inappropriate and you might not be aware of this. See other stuff exists. If you want to use other articles as a model, use those that are classified as good articles.
- Wikipedia articles should primarily summarize what independent reliable sources say about the topic. This isn't necessarily a place to describe what the school says is its offerings and facilities; we want to know what others say about the school. You need to discuss your edits on the article talk page(Talk:Leysin American School). 331dot (talk) 08:56, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Thank so much you for your feedback. I'll definitely keep in mind to scrutinise which articles I use as a reference, and no, I am not affiliated with LAS. Fanchen886374 (talk) 12:21, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

- I have already posted a Welcome message on your IP user page at 39.44.128.177 (talk · contribs), but don't know if you have seen that. Please would you have a look at your reference format? You have recorded two references as external links rather than refs. Tacyarg (talk) 14:49, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- You appear to be editing now using at least three different accounts at the same article. Please read WP:MULTIPLE. 2601:19E:4180:6D50:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 15:00, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Fanchen886374, I have opened a discussion at the article's Talk page which it would be good if you could take part in. I do not understand why you have removed the referenced notable staff. Tacyarg (talk) 15:09, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- I researched the staff to see if the mentioned faculty warranted a separate section as a means to refine the information written, though found nothing of note that required the members of staff mentioned on the article to have their own separate section (I.e. their names are on some minor contributions, like another editor cited, but all sports faculties at similar institutions have the same and my research found no special merit on why only two of those needed to be on the main page, so thought it best to remove it altogether as it doesn't add anything to the overall article, and so is redundant. Would it be best to add it back? Fanchen886374 (talk) 15:23, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- That seems to be a mistake. I'll see if I can log out and reset. Fanchen886374 (talk) 15:27, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

. Drmies (talk) 16:22, 1 March 2024 (UTC)Two things, maybe three. Your earlier account is now blocked, but you said you lost access to it so that's really pro forma. Second, you are edit warring in that article and you don't seem to master Wikipedia conventions and formatting very well: this is disruptive, particularly since you are trying to enforce edits by edit warring. Finally, you have not addressed the matter of the conflict of interest, when it seems clear to various editors and to me that you are not uninvolved with the matter. You may take your case to the talk page--where you'll be able to place specific edit requests, which will require you to use the proper formatting and evidentiary guidelines. - Thank you for sorting out the account situation for me, and I understand your decision. Though I would like to highlight that I was in the process of troubleshooting the issue through the chat talks and videos, and the edit warning was unintentional as I at first assumed it was the website automation failing to register my edits so I simply reddit them, and then worked to add recent references on the article as the notification box at the top stated that the article currently relies on outdated sources from 2015, which I only proceeded to work on after a conversation with the editor who I unintentially warred with.
- Also, I am simply a homeschooled kid from asia, as you can check from my IP address if you want, and would like to say again that I am not employed by LAS. If I was, I would probably be in the swiss alps, but I unfortunately am not. I am not sure how else I am supposed to prove this, but let me know if there is a way that I can.
