Orphaned non-free image (Image:Tuscan logo with cow.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tuscan logo with cow.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 13:20, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Tuscan4c.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Tuscan4c.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:03, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

Hiya. I See you haven't been active since mid May, but your contributions so far look good. I've placedd an offer of adoption on your user page if you're still intersted. Pedro |  Chat  13:24, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Yes, I haven't been on in a while, shame on me, but I am still interested in being adopted. user:fallthroughheat
Don't worry - it's not a requirement to come here every day! I'd be more than happy to act as your adopter, and help you as best I can. To help me, what areas of Wikipedia are you thinkinhg of helping out in? For example, article creation, article expansion, vandal fighting, special areas of interest (sometimes called wikiprojects around here), tidy up / grammar / spelling, pictures, uplodaing files, photography or anything else you can think of. I'd be delighted to point you in the right way and then we can work together from there so that you get the best out of being a wikipedian! Pedro |  Chat  07:24, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I spend most of my time fighting vandalism, if that helps. It's all my friends fault, they got me into Wikipedia. :] user:fallthroughheat
That's a noble cause, and ignore anyone who says otherwise! The number one thing in vandal fighting is assume good faith. For example, blanking a page may look like vandalism, but it could be just an innocent cut an paste error. Leaping in with a final warning is not going to help anyone. The easiest way of checking for vandalism is Wikipedia:Recent changes patrol. You may want to pop the user box on your page. Spend some time reading that page. It gives guidelines and warning templates. Also - why not have a read of WP:VAND, in particular "what vandalism is not". Let me know when you've done that and any thoughts or queries you have. Vandal Fighting

[edit]

Good stuff. I see you reverted some vandalism as well. Remember - it's a good idea to caution the editor who vandalised (on their talk page) using the templates e.g {{subst:test1}}~~~~ will put on a low grade warning, or for very serious and obvious vandalism {{subst:bv}}~~~~. There are a number of templates at WP:VAND along with instructions on their use. As before - remmeber to keep good faith and not whack a heavy warning on, say, simple blanking. Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
