Account problems
[edit]Sorry I can't be of any more help. As far as I understand it the only way of getting access to an account is via the email-password feature. If that does not work when there is no working email attached that is pretty much it (bar major begging with the developers and serious proof of identity).
The same situation has happened to a former admin who similarly now goes by a numbered name. Agathoclea 11:23, 3 May 2007 (UTC)
Hey, thanks for creating the article , I was planning to do so, but you spared my time... :) I'll try to expand it and add some helpful info when I have time. Cheers. Sideshow Bob 19:39, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

Template:FA Cup Finals
[edit]Your edit to {{FA Cup Finals}} did work, but it requires all the articles to call the template between {{fb start}} and {{fb end}}. At the moment, none of the articles do that. You can either go back to your edit and convert all 126 articles or leave it as it is. I would favour the first option but it's more work. slυмgυм [ ←→ ] 12:20, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- With regards to FA Cup seasons articles, I would wait a while until a few more season articles are created. That way we can see if there is a demand for them or if people desire to create them. As a rule of thumb, I wouldn't really want to create a navigation template for mostly red links, so I would wait on 50% of the articles to be created. Category:FA Cup has 5 FA Cup seasons in it; 2 modern, 3 historical, so people are gradually making the older articles. btw, I actually created the FA Cup season article last year and many users contributed after that. slυмgυм [ ←→ ] 13:07, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your message. No problem, just your edit summary mentioned that Mexico aren't definitely through, when in fact they are. In Group A, whichever team finishes third cannot possibly have 6 points. So therefore Mexico have qualified for the Q/F stage already! The colour codes just signify who has qualified and who hasn't, nothing more! Thanks for your input though, have fun! ♦Tangerines BFC ♦·Talk 00:43, 2 July 2007 (UTC)
- Hey it wasn't a stupid mistake at all! Your description of how you look at things made me smile though as it seems to be similar to my own. I probably look in way too much detail into edits than I probably should, and being "very precise and petty with my execution of detail" is something that would almost certainly describe some of my edits on here!

[edit]Hi, I noticed you 'cleaned up' a bit in the England National Football Team page which I'd added. Thanks very much for that - I was actually adding succession boxes for all of the world cup winning teams and confederation championship winning teams (ie Copa América etc) and was adding the flag icons next to each country. However when there are several teams in the one succession box (a good example is Uruguay) the alignment falls out against the centre column (years of victory). Do you know anything about this? Any ideas why it might happen, and if it's because I'm not doing it correctly?Nicko edo...TALK... 14:17, 10 July 2007
Templates "Northern League"
[edit]Can you please rename these templates you have created as the name you are using will cause confusion. The league sponsored by Unibond is not the "Northern League", it is the "Northern Premier League". That would not be too bad, except for the fact that there is a "Northern League" also in the pyramid, in fact it feeds the lower divisions of the "Northern Premier League" - fchd 14:47, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

EPL Results 07-08
[edit]Do you think it would be possible to add FFFFFF to make the black future squares white again to make it easier on the eye for readers. El-Nin09 18:53, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hang on we have got an idea to colorize the table that is there at the moment, to have Red Blue etc El-Nin09 19:44, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for trying to fix it. The problem was that when there were no score, the template was generating a "bgcolor#" without any color. FF makes it white, but IE makes it black. I should have tested with IE (basic internet programming mistake). Anyway, the template's code is not easy to understand, even for who created it. Now, I enter comments that should help. Please, take a look and, if you have time, give me a feed back about the comments (so, I could use similar comments in other templates). Thanks again. --ClaudioMB 22:57, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. That template example was really handy. I'm not in the final documentation phase yet, at this moment, I'm improving and tweaking the templates and helping editors to use them. After they mature and stabilized, I'll improve the documentation. But, I could help myself and I didn't a test on the Template:Fb r. About the table, I'm about to give it a try on Premier League (it's already up in La_Liga_2007-08). Personally, I don't like those colors for European qualification, because its not necessary, since the qualification spot is just beside, impossible to miss it. However, I try to make the templates for all editors, not just for myself, so I'll include them. By the way, as an editor and a software developer I hate enter too much details over and over in an article. I make those templates to enter just the real information and let the computer work for us and put everything in order. Regards. --ClaudioMB 05:07, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

Manual of Style for club season articles
[edit]Hi, I'd like your advise to what's going on this and this. I don't know if you can give a direct option, or give some advise what I could do in this case. Thanks in advance.--ClaudioMB 15:55, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your comment. The reason I had changed the tables was because the tables in the First round had a different class to the tables in the Second Round.
Previously, I edited the article to get consistency, but as you have pointed out, the table does look quite broken, so I have gone back and re-edited the article to change all tables to wikitables. The page look much better now.
Thanks for your comment, and thanks to what you said, the page looks much better now! glennb28 t • c 10:35, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- No problem at all, I could create the Conference table. But, I want to improve the documentation of all Fb templates in order to be easy used by anyone. So, if you don't mind, I'd like to improve the documentation of the templates used in this kind of table, so you could create yourself. This could be a good test. Also, lately, I haven't had much time to contribute in Wikipedia, but if you have patience, soon or later I'll do it. Regards. --ClaudioMB 23:43, 29 September 2007 (UTC)

Template for discipline
[edit]If you have time, could you give your thoughts on this. Thanks. --ClaudioMB 23:45, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- I prefer have a disciplinary section instead of cards columns on the Squad stats because they make the Squad stats to crowed.
On this table, I didn't used the "penalties conceded" column because I believe that is not about discipline. The notes column is for anything important that could show up (I have no idea what could be, but someone always find something to input there).
About the name column, that's a good point, but I'd like to leave this discussion for another opportunity because it should be changed on all tables in order to keep a standard layout.--ClaudioMB 00:30, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

- Thank you very much to warn me. That was my fault. I've changed the template for accept 12 teams. I should have checked all articles that use it, but I checked just one (by Murphy's law, the only one not damaged by the change :-) ). Now, things are good, I hope.--ClaudioMB 22:32, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
MyPa / UEFA cup

I am by no means an expert on football (Finnish or otherwise), but MyPa won its spot in the first qualifying round by winning the fair play competition of the Finnish teams (see [1] "Myllykosken Pallo -47" and [2])

[edit]World Cup 2010 Euro Quals articles
[edit]I don't know whether there is a way to have no link at all from the flag icons. You're arguement is that there are already links to the national teams in the standings table, well the same is true for the flags. If it is not possible then i would say the flag icons may as well link to the national team articles, I can't see much point in linking to the page of the image, of the flag. If you look at the fixture table, I bet a lot of people would assume that the flag icons would link to the national team and not the actual image page.Darryl.matheson (talk) 18:39, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Re: League table template relegation/promotion marks
[edit]- Yup, I'm aware of the problem. It's cause by a error in team templates. I'm fixing it, but I'm still on teams starting with letter L. If you want to fix just for those teams, here's the instructions:
- 1. go to Category:Fb team templates;
- 2. edit the team template you want to fix it;
- 3. replace the end of the line after the country's code for this:
|oc={{#if:{{{oc|}}}|{{{oc}}} }} }}<!-- --><noinclude>[[Category:Fb_team_templates]]</noinclude>
- Example: Template:Fb team Port Vale
- --ClaudioMB (talk) 18:13, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, that'll be a great help. But, it's not an emergency, so, if you need to stop it, you can continue another time. --ClaudioMB (talk) 19:33, 12 April 2008 (UTC)

Premiers
[edit]Just FYI, people down under often call their champions Premiers, especially when there is a regular season champion and a postseason playoff tournament with the former being called the Premiers and the latter being called Champions. The A-League is an example of this. Your edits were obviously in keeping with the English tradition, but I just thought I'd let you know where that user was probably coming from. -- Grant.Alpaugh 03:09, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
- No, no, you're revert was 100% correct, just letting you know the edit in question wasn't as dumb as you thought, so you're summary might have been a bit less condescending. No big deal. Have a good one. -- Grant.Alpaugh 10:14, 1 May 2008 (UTC)
Playoffs
[edit]How about link the playoff template to the playoff section like I've done for Template:Fb_competition_2007-08_NPL_Division_One_North_Playoffs. So, readers could easily click on the link to go to the playoff section like in here Northern_Premier_League_2007-08#League_table_2. --ClaudioMB (talk) 13:44, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Luton Town
[edit]Luton have definitely been fined 10 points for next season, as well as already having lost ten last season. See the BBC report and the FA Statement on the Luton website. Peanut4 (talk) 21:25, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
- No worries. You're right about the BBC report. It doesn't state anywhere that it is for the 2008-09 season. I'd only previously seen an email sent to me, and when I saw your revert, I became unconvinced myself. Peanut4 (talk) 21:29, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Prem
[edit]That's fine, but I don't know why I was the one who got the notes. I didn't add them to the table, just tweaked the wording. Here's my thing though, since I have your ear. I think that if the vacancy opens and is filled before July 1 then that's one thing, but if the vacancy opens before July 1 and is filled (officially like Big Phil at Chelsea), then I don't think there's anything wrong with putting the move (both parts) in each season's article. If you disagree that's fine, but either way Sparky was bought by Man City, he didn't just join them. -- Grant.Alpaugh 21:17, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, I was the one who added the bit about Bruce back when it happened. No worries. Cheers! -- Grant.Alpaugh 21:26, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

WP:FOOTY discussion
[edit]Hi Falastur, not to sound annoying or anything, but I've recently started a discussion regarding the names of Brazilian clubs on wikipedia (here) and considering the scale and importance of the clubs involved and the fact that there is no formal move request, I thought it might be a good idea to inform some of the regular WP:FOOTY contributors in order to get a consensus and not just a few opinions. So if you could take a second to express your opinion, it would be appreciated, cheers. BanRay 22:27, 20 July 2008 (UTC)
Re: UEFA Cup top scorers
[edit]No no, you didn't come across that way at all. I guess you would be right that "lawyering" someone does have some negative connotations, however. I'll try not to use it again :D – PeeJay 01:53, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
RE: OR and UEFA Cup
[edit]Hey, thanks for your message, Wiki is not supposed to be the first port of call for information, and as the "more than one table" options are all for listing information you can't get anywhere else, then it is original research. Or, if you like, it's not against the word but certainly the spirit of the OR policy. doktorb wordsdeeds 23:00, 24 July 2008 (UTC)
"Cardiff City would never be English"
[edit]Actually, if Cardiff had won the FA Cup last season, they would have been competing under the English flag as they would have qualified through an English competition. However, you are correct that Vaduz should use the Liechtensteiner flag as they qualified through the Liechtensteiner Cup. – PeeJay 15:24, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
