Thanks!

[edit]

Thanks for the kind additions to my politican stub sorting page! I'll work on alphabetization and the like as I can, of course! (Good thing you know about Vermont too, because I don't!) Panchitavilletalk 03:28, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Senators

[edit]

Excellent work on the Missing Articles:Senators project, and thank you for your kind words. If you have any suggestions on how my own contributions can be improved, please share them. Keep up the good work Paul 23:17, 1 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Charles M. Smith

[edit]

Dear Fagles, I need to make an adjustment to the VT governors infobox and I'm not sure how to do it without having to go through each one. Charles M. Smith is listed as a governor, but the current Charles M. Smith page links to an actor, so we need to create a Charles M. Smith (governor) but how can we link that to the infobox? Sorry for the irritating question, but you seemed like a likely candidate with a solution :-) H0n0r 20:54, 24 June 2006 (UTC) (I am so sorry for putting this on your userpage!)[reply]

Mitt Romney

[edit]

Dear Fagles,

I saw that you have edited this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitt_Romney

This page is the #2 site that comes up when doing a "Mitt Romney" google. In my opinion, it is better than any other Mitt Romney article. However, it is not very comprehensive. I'm trying to make something more like a Mitt Romney book, instead of a Mitt Romney Article. The website is here:

http://myclob.pbwiki.com/

I examine many additional topics, but I want more perspectives than just my own. I would like you to help contribute, if you would like. Just e-mail me at: mike.laub@gmail.com, and I will give you the password!

Until we get more people working on it, I would like to keep the password a secret. I do not have enough time to correct graffiti.

Nice work on seperating the popular culture. I noticed it on Garuda the other day after I was involved in a little war on Orang Hutan. Was it because the pop culture references actually had nothing to do with Garuda? regards Merbabu 08:40, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: too bad "preview" doesn't show footnotes

[edit]

Re: Governorship of Mitt Romney 16:02, January 25, 2007 Fagles (Talk | contribs) m (→Abortion - typo? too bad "preview" doesn't show footnotes)

My technique is to put the <references/> tag into the preview window; it will show just the references for that section, then do the preview. Then, ahem, remember to delete the <references/> tag before saving. -- Yellowdesk 00:36, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Washington State Apple Blossom Festival, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. An editor has nominated Garuda in popular culture, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Garuda in popular culture and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Discussion about Romney political views/positions article title

[edit]

HI,
A while ago, in January, you participated in a discussion that ultimately helped motivate the creation of a new section which became Political positions of Mitt Romney. The section a couple of months later was bumped out into a separate article entitled Political views of Mitt Romney. In case you're interested, there's a discussion underway about whether it's an improvement to name it Political positions of Mitt Romney, over at Talk:Political views of Mitt Romney#Requested move.

Ah, well I'm glad you followed the instruction instead doing what I would have done. Basically, you'll need a DRV, I stand by my original decision. A word of warning though, try and significantly reduce the size of your reason for undeletion. If it's anywhere near the size of the post on my talk page, people will be less inclined to respond to/read it. John Reaves (talk) 19:49, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Walt Whitman in popular culture, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Walt Whitman in popular culture satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Walt Whitman in popular culture and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Walt Whitman in popular culture during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Eyrian 20:03, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Ham and Eggs newsletter masthead.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 14:47, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ham and Eggs newsletter masthead.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ham and Eggs newsletter masthead.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 20:34, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of All Hail to Massachusetts

[edit]

A tag has been placed on All Hail to Massachusetts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. 2019 US Banknote Contest

[edit]
US Banknote Contest
November-December 2019

There are an estimated 30,000 different varieties of United States banknotes, yet only a fraction of these are represented on Wikimedia Commons in the form of 2D scans. Additionally, Colonial America, the Confederate States, the Republic of Texas, multiple states and territories, communities, and private companies have issued banknotes that are in the public domain today but are absent from Commons.

In the months of November and December, WikiProject Numismatics will be running a cross-wiki upload-a-thon, the 2019 US Banknote Contest. The goal of the contest is to increase the number of US banknote images available to content creators on all Wikimedia projects. Participants will claim points for uploading and importing 2D scans of US banknotes, and at the end of the contest all will receive awards. Whether you want to claim the Gold Wiki or you just want to have fun, all are invited to participate.

If you do not want to receive invitations to future US Banknote Contests, follow the instructions here

Notice

The file File:Alexandre Vattemare.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Superseded by File:Alexandre Vattemare.png

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 15:56, 5 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
