Please help me with recovering a draft article that was created and saved PRIOR TO logging in. I've asked for help in the Teahouse with no success. I tried to go back to the draft using the back button on my browser (Firefox) and got the message that "Draft:Ian Sinclair - Caledon Ontario Landscape Architect and Politician" cannot be found or doesn't exist. Again, I wasn't signed in, and assume that I was thus not identified, when I created the draft, and the Wikipedia page that told me the draft wasn't there magically knew the name of the draft .... how can that be, since the only time I entered that name was when I created the draft, before logging in. I don't want to screw up again so would like to know what has happened. Thanks!FTWILLIAM (talk) 21:27, 21 August 2014 (UTC)

- Are you sure you saved the draft? I can find no evidence it ever existed, certainly not under that name. In fact, a search for "Ian Sinclair" in the Draft namespace doesn't show any promising results. Regarding the "does not exist" message, something like that will come up for all pages that don't exist, such as, say, Draft:This page really, really does not exist and never has. If you cannot recover what you wrote from your browser's history, I'm afraid the content may truly be lost and you'll have to re-write it again. The only other option you could try would be to look up your IP address and to check its contributions by typing the IP into the "User:" textbox - if the draft exists in some strange place (which I rather doubt), it might show up there. As an aside, you should choose a shorter title, probably either Draft:Ian Sinclair (politician) or Draft:Ian Sinclair (landscape architect), depending on what he's primarily known for.
