Kea

[edit]

Hello. I just removed your image from the Auckland article, and wanted to tell you why, so you don't take offense (Especially as I then went over to the same article and to Seabus Kea and replaced it with one of mine also taken on the same day!).

As explained in the Auckland edit summary, there are some deficiencies to your image. One way of overcoming most of them would be to correctly align the image (i.e. so that the horizon is level) and to crop out parts that are distracting (the foreground) and thus also enable the image to look better as a small thumbnail.

Again, please do not take offense. Its great to have people add pictures to Wikipedia. MadMaxDog 00:19, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:888 logo.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:888 logo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:02, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Template:V8 Team

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:V8 Team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>transclusionless</noinclude>).

Image source problem with Image:888 logo.gif

[edit]
Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:888 logo.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 22:17, 2 September 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sdrtirs (talk) 22:17, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image problems with Image:FordPV.JPG

[edit]

Could you please explain how you have the rights for this logo? I'd just like to clear it up before I tag it for being a copyright violation. Thanks, Matty (talk) 12:56, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello. Concerning your contribution, Image:FordPV.JPG, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from www.fpv.com.au. As a copyright violation, Image:FordPV.JPG appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Image:FordPV.JPG has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.

If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:

 • If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Image:FordPV.JPG and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
 • If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Image:FordPV.JPG with a link to where we can find that note.
 • If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Image:FordPV.JPG.

However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Matty (talk) 23:43, 2 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:Cheap jade.JPG has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:01, 18 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
