Your username

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created 2015 FIVB Women's World Cup‎, and I noticed that your username, "FIVBVolleyball", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a username change that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. 331dot (talk) 11:27, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Dear sir,

My name is Nick Winn, I'm an editor at the FIVB based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Some incorrect information appeared in an article a few days ago and we sourced it back to information on the Wikipedia pages for the Men's and Women's Volleyball World Cups.

This is to inform you that these have been updated accordingly. If you wish to verify that this is an official FIVB account feel free to contact me at nick.winn@fivb.org. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FIVBVolleyball (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your reply; you will need to change your username so that it refers to you as an individual user and it is not solely that of an organization, such as "Joe at FIVB". You do not need to use your real name, just something that only you will use and will not be shared. Please review the username policy for more information.
You will also need to review the conflict of interest policy before continuing to edit in areas where you have an association. 331dot (talk) 11:35, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Editing FIVB World cup page

[edit]

Hello! I see you edit the FIVB World cup page. The information which you delete is my updating. But, I get all of information from FIVB website which I show in reference section. I suspect why you tell it is an incorrect information. If you have a newer information, please add the reference. --Noncommittalp (talk) 13:49, 23 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:18, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
