Jim's previous page was removed in 2003 for having no citations and a promotional conotation opposed to and encyclopedic one.

Many Jim Harrison one-page biographies exist, but nearly all repeat sensational claims which I have thus far been unable to verify using primary sources. Infact, some of the facts listed have even been refuted by some individuals, agancies, and articles. It is almost like the "Chuck Norris Facts" phenomenon had occured with Jim Harrison at some point, and some were so widely acknowledged that they overshadowed Jim's actual history.

My article is not based solely, or even primarily on the bio pages on all the Martial Arts Hall of Fames, and such that list Jim, but rather on the newspaper and magazine articles that reported his accomplishments in a documentary style. This is what I mean when I say a primary source. The published writings of unbiased witnesses delivering news; and offical documents, etc.

Without better documentation, I am not comfortable publishing information about...
Jim's childhood fights, street fights, and bar fights
Jim's Family life
Jim's careers outside of Martial Arts (carpenter/bodyguard/cop/soldier/stunt double/etc.)
Jim's Honory Doctorate
Stories of sudden violent outbursts in/around the dojo or at competitions when outside the ring.
etc.

If anyone has solid, citeable, primary resources for these types of events, then I welcome their inclusion. F.hazzard (talk) 07:05, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
