Spamming
could you be more specific as to what you have removed? and why you feel the link is not relevant? thanks!Adrianbrodal (talk) 13:02, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- I specifically removed the links (all pointing to the same website) that you added to a multitude of articles. See Wikipedia:Spam. It is apparent to me that your objective is to promote irinnews.org by adding links to it on Wikipedia. --Ezeu (talk) 13:19, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Afternoon Ezeu, I wonder if we should be assuming good faith here? IRIN is a reputable news agency, attached to the UN, so I don't think it should necessarily be considered spam. Whether or not it warrants inclusion in country articles is a different question. Cheers — SteveRwanda (talk) 14:08, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
- Hello. I consider it spamming when anyone systematically and massively adds links to a website. --Ezeu (talk) 14:32, 23 March 2009 (UTC).
- Hello. I consider irresponsible to revert all edits of one user without checking. i'm sure irin is reliable source and i don't see anything bad to have that links there. it was also in some articles that you've reverted and the link was old. adrianbrodal has repaired them and he's also categorised that links. i'm sure he was not spaming even adding it in good faith as sveterwanda has pointed out.. ..Dubhe.sk (talk) 15:02, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

Hi,
Took care of your request this way. Consider it done.? -DePiep (talk) 21:33, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
Script
Hi. I am in the process of developing a script to automatically correct common misspellings in articles. The initial goal is for users to have a button at the top of the article which will open an edit window and do a search/replace to correct common misspellings. When the script completes, it then shows the changes and allows the editor to decide if the changes were correct. The goal is to have as few falsely corrected entries, so some of the entries on WP:LCM wouldn't be added. If you are interested in trying it out, let me know. My initial prototype only has entries from the "A" page. There are probably some minor bugs in there as well, but it won't commit any changes without approval. The script is at User:Symplectic Map/spell.js and you just have to include it in your monobook.js file, e.g., User:Symplectic Map/monobook.js. If you are using something other than the standard theme, it would have to be included there instead. It should work on Firefox and Google Chrome. I haven't tested Internet Explorer. If you know of another script for doing this sort of thing, please let me know, so I don't unnecessarily waste any time. Thanks! Symplectic Map (talk) 20:59, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Jonas Savimbi.gif)
Thanks for uploading File:Jonas Savimbi.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:26, 11 June 2009 (UTC)

Lord's Resistance Army insurgency at FAR
I have nominated Lord's Resistance Army insurgency for a featured article review here. Please join the discussion on whether this article meets featured article criteria. Articles are typically reviewed for two weeks. If substantial concerns are not addressed during the review period, the article will be moved to the Featured Article Removal Candidates list for a further period, where editors may declare "Keep" or "Remove" the article's featured status. The instructions for the review process are here.Cirt (talk) 00:48, 26 June 2009 (UTC)

GA reassessment of Idi Amin
I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. I have found some concerns with the artcile which you can see at Talk:Idi Amin/GA1. I have placed the article on hold whilst these are fixed. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 17:13, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
Hottentot
Hi. I would like to start an article on the Hottentot language. I see that you have been involved on the redirect page of the same name. Hottentot is still used in the current linguistic literature to discribe one of the Khoisan languages (Ladefoge and Maddieson 1996, chapter 8). You can also see that it is still recognized by SIL international at [1]. I would like to discuss this with you if neccasary. I will interpret silence as agreement after a short time.---Flaquito (talk) 23:09, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

- Thank you. I am waiting for one more journal rticle to arrive before starting.---Flaquito (talk) 17:36, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
It was written before the Vietnam War. Therefore it is not possible that there is a Vietnam War movie using it as a source book.
There are several such cases in the list where non-period material is adapted as a source, either for plot, or for background material.
For a more obscure conflict, such as Uganda-Tanzania, we have to make do with the very limited amount of material on the subject. For a different conflict (World War II), standards can be very rigorous. For a conflict the average person is unaware of, standards for inclusion can be a little looser.
Cheers, Varlaam (talk) 23:27, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- That war is not obscure (it is one of the more well known military conflicts in Africa), and there is no need to set low standards on African related issues just because you are not familiar with them. --Ezeu (talk) 00:12, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Zaiko poster.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Zaiko poster.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 21:19, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
Hello Ezeu! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 4 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 175 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Beverley Kelso - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Peter Nazareth - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Speedy deletion nomination of CEMA (record label distributor)
A tag has been placed on CEMA (record label distributor) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Codf1977 (talk) 12:25, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
The article CEMA (record label distributor) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-Notable distribution company - Fails WP:CORP.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Codf1977 (talk) 14:47, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Okiror.jpg
Thanks for uploading File:Okiror.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ΔT The only constant 00:15, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Jitney (investment term)
A tag has been placed on Jitney (investment term) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article consists of a dictionary definition or other article that has been transwikied to another project and the author information recorded.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}

Africa Award
Ezeu, from a fellow Ugandan: "Thank you". I have been on the road a lot this summer. Spent six weeks in East Africa, then two weeks in the American Desert Southwest and another week in Washington, DC. That is why it has taken me this long to acknowledge the compliment. Will try to live up to expectations. Warmest regards.Fsmatovu (talk) 15:04, 21 September 2010 (UTC)
Typical admin
Don't edit posts that you know jack-shit about, declaring your ignorance as facts. The original wailers formed a few years ago, so it's funny how you propose that they may of released their recordings with Yamanaka in the 80s. It was not the Wailers backing band but the Wailers as they reformed under that name in honor of Bob with his good friend Yamanaka. So piss off with your ignorance.203.113.237.121 (talk) 03:35, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
