User talk:Eyesbomb
Welcome!
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you enjoy the encyclopaedia and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ; plus, if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Also, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page.
Additional tips
[edit]Here are some extra tips to help you get around in Wikipedia:
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.

Keratconus
[edit]Hello. With regard to the changes here, I think I must disagree, for the following reasons:
- Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, and not a 'how-to' guide. A list of places from which to get treatment does not fit into an encyclopaedic article, the focus of which is an academic treatment of its subject matter.
- If this treatment is increasing in popularity worldwide, the list will be become hopelessly out of date in a few months.
- Cities in Italy and Germany have been named, but not those in other countries where the treatment is in common use. Why is this?
- If the treatment is carried out in many cities, why are those particular ones named and not others in Germany and Italy?
- I have looked around several medical articles on various topics, and none contained lists of places where particular treatments are carried out.
- None of the other keratoconus articles appear to have lists of places where C3R treatment is carried out.
- The statement is unsourced.
- '&c.' is not an recognised abbreviated in English. Even 'etc.' is frowned upon in formal English.
It's probably better that we discuss this on the talk page of the article. We could seek guidance from WikiProject Medicine. Regards, — BillC talk 12:01, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Nonsense of The Mars Volta tours
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on The Mars Volta tours, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because The Mars Volta tours provides no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting The Mars Volta tours, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 13:32, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
Accelerate
[edit]See the article talk page for explanation as to why the timeline keeps gettting removed. For further reference, not all changes need to be discussed first on the talk page first, per WP:BOLD. WesleyDodds (talk) 13:29, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- You've now broken WP:3RR. If you choose to revert again, it will be considered a serious offence. Discuss inclusion of the timeline on the talk page. CloudNine (talk) 13:56, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have fully protected the article in question. Consider taking this to dispute resolution, such as WP:RFC and WP:3O. Disputes should be resolved on talk pages, not in the main article space, and as noted above, further reverts can result in blocks for disruption to all involved parties. Work out your differences before editing this article again.--Jayron32.talk.contribs 19:59, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
- Eyesbomb - You are cordially invited to Talk:Accelerate (R.E.M. album) for content discussions on the article. As protection is set to expire in about 1/2 hour, it is imperative to the process that all parties concerned return to the table and set out a clear, civil and maleable agenda going forward. Thank you ever so much. Edit Centric (talk) 19:25, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
- I thought I'd drop you a quick line on your talk page, away from all the "sturm-und-drang" over at the Accelerate article. Like I said over there, the realization is that your strengths (from my vantage point) lie more towards sourcing and digging info from other places, more than edits and proofing. That's not a slight against you, as I am also, like I said, not so loquatious in the spoken word, (I absolutely SUCK at public speaking!) but have a professional command of the written word, it comes from my father insisting on my reading a new word from the dictionary each evening while I was young, and building my vocabulary.
- What I would suggest, since the others seem to be forming some ill opinions of you, that you take a while, back away, and let the process flesh it's self out. Dig the info, and submit it on the talk page, in a way that suggests helpfulness and cannot be impeached with suggestions of malice or "bad faith". Act on your strengths, my friend, make them your ally. Edit Centric (talk) 00:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)
Your userpage...
[edit]Reading your userpage, I saw this; "I am born in Rome on last year's day of first year of the 80's, where I'll die I do not know..". (Now, I get to poke a little fun...you know, 1981 was actually the second year of the 80's...) all in good fun, mate! Edit Centric (talk) 07:41, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
Another editor has added the {{prod}}
template to the article R.E.M. tours, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}}
template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. BJBot (talk) 00:59, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Probation on Obama related articles
[edit] Thank you for your contributions to the encyclopedia! In case you are not already aware, an article to which you have recently contributed, Barack Obama, is on article probation. A detailed description of the terms of article probation may be found at Talk:Barack Obama/Article probation. Also note that the terms of some article probations extend to related articles and their associated talk pages.
The above is a templated message. Please accept it as a routine friendly notice, not as a claim that there is any problem with your edits. Thank you. -- The Magnificent Clean-keeper (talk) 16:31, 26 December 2008 (UTC)
U2 at Glastonbury
[edit]It is naturally mentioned on their homepage but that does not make it a part of the tour. If you look at the actual tour dates you will find that it is not listed; see for yourself. I will also note that, although they are not official sources, neither U2Gigs or U2Tours lists it as a part of the tour either. The Glastonbury Festival is just an extra concert that they are playing in between tour dates (I won't even mention the impossible logistics regarding their stage). It is no more a part of U2 360° than Live 8 was part of the Vertigo Tour. Until there is an official announcement from a credible source (U2.com or Live Nation) that explicitly states the Glastonbury Festival date is a part of the U2 360° Tour (ex. the U2.com Tour Index adding the Glastonbury Festival to the tour dates), it is nothing more an assumption on your part and cannot be included. Please see this discussion I have opened up on the talk page to avoid any further edit-warring. MelicansMatkin (talk, contributions) 20:38, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Eyesbomb! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 49 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:
- Mark Aanderud - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
- Enrico Montesano - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

What is your issue with The Mars Volta tours
[edit]What is your issue with The Mars Volta tours the con is to remove the flags. I can see no difference between my edit bar the flags Gnevin (talk) 23:21, 1 September 2010 (UTC)

3rr warning on The Mars Volta tours
[edit]Just as a note, but you have made three reverts in a 24-hour period and any other revert could result in being blocked from editing. Aspects (talk) 03:26, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Double check man, I've been reverting an OUTDATED version that the user just pretended to write over the up to date one, which is frankly outrageous. I see you two guys are lone soldiers sort of 'collaborating' on removing flags in 'listing' articles that need such, as discussed in the past on a much larger scale than your 3, 4-people total discussion, because of making it easier to scroll the article in a fast way and still finding different zones, areas or continents. Not to mention, as said, the page your friend forced in was initially awfully outdated. I adivse yuou guys to start a much larger discussion to see if it really doesn't help the scrolling, before forcing your way through articles that have been there, and like this, thankfully, for years and years. Thank you very much. Eyesbomb 12:02, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Every single one of your five edits to the article in the past twenty-four hours was a WP:REVERT and even though you mention it in your edit summary, not one of them was WP:VANDALISM, especially the last two that did not change any date information. Instead of heeding my warning by joining the conversation to form a consensus, you chose instead to commit another revert and because of this I am going to report you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring#User:Eyesbomb reported by User:Aspects (Result: ). Please feel free to add any information you feel is relevant to the 3rr conversation there. Aspects (talk) 11:34, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. CIreland (talk) 13:10, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at The Mars Volta tours. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Gnevin (talk) 18:40, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- You should calm down, accept a democratic discussion, wait for consensus and not force your way through. I've already asked you, don't pretend you do not read what you don't want to read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_%28icons%29#Use_of_flag_icons_in_concert_tours_or_festivals Eyesbomb (talk) 21:44, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- WP:NOTDEMOCRACY and the consensus is in favour of removing . You should look to change this consensus not ignore it. I've replied several time at that discussion Gnevin (talk) 19:48, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
3rr warning on The Mars Volta tours again

Proposed deletion of Primal Scream tours
[edit]The article Primal Scream tours has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable, unsourced list of concert tours and other concerts fails both WP:GNG, WP:CONCERT TOUR and WP:NLIST.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Aspects (talk) 23:50, 4 November 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Speedy deletion nomination of Organizers Forum
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Organizers Forum requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.discoverthenetworks.org/organizations/organizers-forum-of/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Disambiguation link notification for August 25
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Björk Orkestral, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Record. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
