If you have any questions, please talk to us. The tips below should help you to get started. Best of luck! — Mariah-Yulia • Talk to me!13:21, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You don't need to read anything - anybody can edit; just go to an article and edit it. Be Bold, but please don't put silly stuff in - it will be removed very quickly, and will annoy people.
Ask for help. Talk to us live, or edit this page, put {{helpme}} and describe what help you need. Someone will reply very quickly - usually within a few minutes.
Play in your user area. For example, you can create your own testpage at User:Exuwon/Sandbox.
Edit existing articles, before you make your own. Look at some subjects that you know about, and see if you can make them a bit better. For example, Wikipedia:Cleanup#2009.
When you're ready, read about Your first article. It should be about something well-known, and it will need references.
Good luck with editing; please drop me a line some time on my own talk page.

I think it could be handy for you to browse through some of the links below so as to become more familiar with how Wikipedia works. If you need any help you can ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and another Wikipedian will show up shortly. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or by typing four tildes "~~~~"; this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you're already loving Wikipedia and plan on becoming a Wikipedian you might consider being "adopted" by a more experienced editor, just paste {{Adoptme}} into your userpage and you will gladly be adopted! You might also consider joining a WikiProject so as to collaborate with others in creating and improving articles of your interest. Click here for a directory of all the WikiProjects. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Happy editing and once again, welcome to the fantastic world of Wikipedia!
I realize that these are good faith edits, but when you changed the Planck units table in Natural units to the template, it affected the appearance of the article in a way that decreased consistency of format.
I am certainly not opposed to putting common information into templates and making use of the templates, but not at the expense of making the articles look worse. Then what's the point? If you can somehow use these templates in such a way that they do not compromize article quality, feel free. But don't make use of a tool, just because that tool exists, unless such use improves articles. 64.223.106.185 (talk) 16:50, 29 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, first of all it's a pity that you haven't log in, so there can be a problem for delivering this massage to you. I can tell you the reason why to use the template. The concept is well described by the DRY principle, and it has nothing to do with the fact of tool existence itself. And I do believe that application of DRY principle by utilization of templates improves the article maintenance. The only question is how to insert the template in a way that article appearance will be satisfactory. Exuwon (talk) 01:17, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I can always check your talk page. There are multiple reasons I edit anonymously as an IP. I can be more effective and get more good work done that way. Wikipedia is politically complicated. Lot's of backstabbing and other bullshit goes on here.
Essentially we are in agreement. I think it's fine to apply DRY, but not at the expense of other concerns like a consistent appearance for the articles. In Planck units, it seems perfectly appropriate to center that table prominently because that article is solely about Planck units. In Natural units, the table should look like the other tables for the other unit systems except for the content. If you can figure out a way to satisfy both concerns, I'm quite happy with that. 64.223.106.185 (talk) 04:08, 30 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It looks to me like the Cppcheck article is ready for you to go live. I think it's enough for a starter. It has info and establishes at least 2 external sources for notability. AliveFreeHappy (talk) 03:22, 14 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My name is Victor and I'm a storyteller with the Wikimedia Foundation, the non-profit organization that supports Wikipedia. I'm chronicling the inspiring stories of the Wikipedia community around the world, including those from readers, editors, and donors. Stories are absolutely essential for any non-profit to persuade people to support the cause, and we know the vast network of people who make and use Wikipedia have so much to share.
I'm scouring user pages looking for inspiring, motivating and interesting stories of how Wikipedia has affected the lives of people. I'm asking questions like "How has Wikipedia changed your life?", "What's the most interesting story you have about Wikipedia?" and "Has Wikipedia ever surprised you?"
Last year, we used the annual fundraiser as a way to show the world who it is who actually writes Wikipedia. We featured editors from Brazil, Ukraine, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, India, United States and England. This campaign was a huge success, resulting in the most financially successful fundraising campaign ever. It was also a campaign that stayed true to the spirit of Wikipedia, educating the public that this free top-5 website is created by volunteers like you and I.
This year we want to highlight more Russian-language Wikipedia editors, so I am in the process of planning a trip to Russia to interview editors.
If you or someone you know (or have heard about) has been positively affected by Wikipedia, or have something interesting to say about Wikipedia I'd very much like to hear about it!
Please let me know if you're inclined to take part in the Wikipedia Stories Project, or if you know someone else with whom I should speak.
Of course, if you have any questions or concerns, please ask! I will answer as soon as I can. I apologize for any poor translation of this letter, I am using Google-translate. I hope it makes you laugh :)
