The author of that paper that you deleted the reference for asks: 1) What does "unverified" mean? 2) Regarding "Characterizing the data within as eye witness reports is inappropriate." or "hearsay" - it is a report by a prominent scientist given to the paper's author https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sev'yan_I._Vainshtein who personally interviewed the witnesses. By this definition, most of the references in the section Selected Eyewitness Accounts in the article would have to be deleted. There were several newspaper reports for example. Do you think that all of those reporters went to the site and interviewed the witnesses themselves? No. So all of those newspaper articles are by definition third hand and hearsay. 3) What is the "conjecture" especially comparing with the other accounts that are deemed suitable for the article? 4) Regarding this: 5) Regarding "At best it is a third-hand witness report" Vainshtein himself wrote down the witness' testimonies.
