[edit]Hello, Evileyelover22, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like YUSU, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

Speedy deletion nomination of YUSU
[edit]Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and the page that you created has been or soon will be deleted. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Help request
[edit]I made a grammatical error in the titling of this page University of York Students Union It should be titled University of York Students' Union. How do I retitle it?
Many thanks
- Hi there.
- I've moved this down into a new section at the end of your page - please create a new section at the end to start new conversations like this.
- Also, please remember to 'sign' your name by typing ~~~~ at the end of messages. This will put your user name, and the date/time.
- You have to WP:MOVE a page to rename it, but you are not allowed to move pages until you have been registered for 4 days and your account is autoconfirmed, so I tried to move it for you - but I couldn't, as there is already a page called University of York Students' Union - which is a WP:REDIRECT to University of York#Student activities.
- I'm asking an admin to delete the redirect now; I'll let you know when it gets done.
- For more help, you can either;
- Leave a message on my own talk page;
OR
- Use a {{helpme}} - please create a new section at the end of your own talk page, put {{helpme}}, and ask your question - remember to 'sign' your name by putting ~~~~ at the end;
OR
- Talk to us live.
- Best wishes, Chzz ► 14:51, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Now done. The redirect was deleted, and I've moved the new page to University of York Students' Union. Also, I'll now add the link to the new page to University of York. Cheers, Chzz ► 14:57, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- I've added a template to the University of York in the student activities bit to link to the new article. Cheers, Chzz ► 15:00, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
University of York Students' Union
[edit]- Please start to fill in the 'Edit Summary' box saying what you have changed, each time you edit. If you look in the history at the edits I have made, you'll see that it makes it a lot easier to follow. See also WP:EDITSUMMARY.
- In the section University of York Students' Union#Events, what are "Ents reps"? Please could you write the term out in full.
Cheers, Chzz ► 15:35, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
- Hi. Thanks for fixing the ent reps thing, and also for starting to use the edit summary. Great stuff.
- I made some minor edits to the page, because I was passing...hopefully it'll be clear why, etc, from my edit comments.
- For future reference, you might be interested in learning about user subpages - often, it can be better to 'get an article into shape' in your own area before copying it across to the live area. As Wikipedia is always live, as soon as you make a new page it is likely to be edited by others, and if it doesn't have references or there are problems with the formatting, this might cause problems. If you create, for example, User:Evileyelover22/mytestpage, you can play around in there as much as you like - try things out, etc.
- So - if you need more help, you know where to come. Please drop in and say hello to us on IRC some time; if the java version] does not work for you, perhaps this will work.
