White flag
[edit]My last wiki act before my break, because I forgot to reply. Why not post that on the talk page of the article? That's probably the best thing to do right now. If you do, let me know on my talk page and I'll reply after I become active again. Dougweller (talk) 06:21, 17 October 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, Dougweller
My name is Jan Jacobsen and I live in Norway. I live for peace. And I hope we all one day will be kind to each other, and live in a peaceful world.
Concerning the White Flag image, which I added. For me and many others in our time - the White Flag means peace.

'A White Flag - for peace - an example'
As it says in the text:
"White flags have had different meanings throughout history and depending on the locale."
I would therefore suggest that you edit this text:
"White flags have had and have different meanings throughout history depending on the locale. For many people today, the white flag also means peace."
...
Some years ago when someone wrote about the White Flag on Wikipedia, they used this image.
It was not me putting it out then.
After some years it was removed from the english site, and replaced by the "drawed flag".
But the image is in use on Wikipedia in many articles about the White flag, in many other languages, - as you can see.
Over the years, the image has also been used on several websites and blogs around the world, in a very proper and good manner. For expressing peace, love and surrendering. The flag and image has really inspired people.
...
"The most common way of making a white flag is to obtain a pole and tie two corners of a sheet of cloth to the top of the pole and somewhere in the middle"
The White Flag flag I have sewn myself, and the pole I have made out of small tree. - And I climed up to a top of a mountain here in Norway, 2469 meters high, and took the image.
The flag and the image is therefore a very good example of making a white flag.
...
I have no copyright on the image. I hope therefore you can approve using it.
...
But if you still mean, that this White Flag image should not be posted on the english site,
- I accept and surrender.
Peace and Love
