Image copyright problem with Image:Makino Label.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Makino Label.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Hey Rcawsey, I tried to tweak the Makino page to make it less like an advert. I'm still new to the wikipedia world, so if you have some tips for me to continue adjustments I'd enjoy the feedback. Thanks! Everpassingpxpx (talk) 17:20, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- It looks a lot better now - advert tag removed. . . Rcawsey (talk) 19:23, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Image tagging for File:5-axisVideo.ogg
[edit]Hopefully this is the correct way to discuss stuff here, forgive my naivety. So File:5-axisVideo.ogg was deleted and that's understandable, out of my lack of knowledge I didn't support the licensing enough. My question is, how would I support a video's licensing if I was provided the video from the company. I saw their youtube video and requested it's use for wikipedia. I can provide an e-mail conversation to back up my permission, but how would I provide it to wikipedia? Thanks! Everpassingpxpx (talk) 16:43, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
- The most important thing is to make sure you got the right sort of permission. If you got the video released under a free license, all you need to do is forward the email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org with a note that whoever processes it will need to undelete the video. If you've only got permission to use the video on Wikipedia, you'll need to ask for release under a free license (Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission is a good starting point) before forwarding the email. --Carnildo (talk) 23:45, 13 February 2009 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Weaver-69.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Weaver-69.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 00:40, 15 March 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 00:40, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
