• Thank you for the compliment on the article. I would like it if both sections were seperate. The reasoning behind this is that some of us are using this as a standard in regard to military bios. Civilian honors should not be mixed up with military honors. My objective these last two weeks is to make sure that every Hispanic Medal of Honor recipient has an article in Wikipedia. Cheer! Darwin Awards

British vs. American English

Just a note re: your edits to Darwin Awards - "honour" and "sterilising" are not typos or mispellings, but are the English spellings of those words. See WP:MOS#National varieties of English and WP:SPELLING. MarkBrooks 21:15, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

My edits to "honour" and "sterilising" Darwin Awards were actually reverts back to the way they were spelled in the original text and someone had changed them. The "honour" and "sterilising" versions are actually British spellings. I changed them back to American English. Easy does it with those reversions

Hello Evb-wiki -- Like others, I greatly appreciate your commitment to reverting vandalism, but please be careful that you really hit what you are aiming at. Earlier today, you twice visited the Aristotle page to revert vandalism. The first time you thought you were reverting to the last version by Wareh, but actually you reverted to the version after Wareh's edit and left the vandalism intact. The second time, 76.190.70.167 had made a string of 3 vandal edits. You reverted 76.190.70.167's final edit, but not the 2 before it, leaving some of the junk in place and increasing the likelihood that it would be overlooked by subsequent editors. Just an FYI, but I reverted the edits instead of deleting the article. The article was originally a disambiguation page when it was replaced by the edits that you tagged. You'll want to check the article history before CSD tagging to make sure an editor hasn't replaced content instead of making a new article. DB for pages not in English

Just an FYI, you aren't supposed to tag not-English pages for CSD as nonsense, as you did at Temizlik. There is a tag for articles that are not in English and exist in another Wikimedia project, but I can't read this one (and don't even know what language it's in) so I'm not sure if that criteria applies. Nonsense and Blingbarbie

The WP:CSD G1 ({{db-nonsense}}) should really be reserved for word salad and complete bollocks. My Scene Juicy Bling Kennedy Doll (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) should be speedy deleted, but under CSD G11 (Barbiespam) or G12 (it's ripped off from the Walmart page on Blingbarbie). You're absolutely right, the name scored 8/10 on my bogosity meter. But the contents got 9/10 on the copyvio-sensor: far too much like professional marketing-speak. I usually pick a weird-looking phrase and google for it. It's surprising how often it works, although I reckon at least half of the spam we get is copyvio too, only not indexed by google. Please check the article history before nominating an article for speedy deletion, especially if the article name looks legitimate, e.g. [1]. You'd marked this as a db-nonsense Speedy, which I don't believe was accurate. The place may well be non-notable, but the article was not nonsensical as it indicated that it was a place in Hyderabad with a particular landmark. BigHaz - Schreit mich an 23:51, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

When an article on an otherwise encyclopedic topic has the tone of an advertisement, the article can often be salvaged by rewriting it in a neutral point of view and adding context, e.g., historical relevance or community recognition. Please provide sources to establish the subject's notability. Of course, the need for sources goes beyond notability. Nicknames in Houston

Are you serious? Really? Again?

It was decided that the nicknames in concern at that time would be included in the article. Do not tell me that it wasn't because I was the first to change it. Those names were added to the Culture section, left alone for days, and not discussed afterwards. Now all of a sudden you decide you don't want them there. What are you saying?? The issue was originally between me and Postoak for several widespread nicknames. I added maybe four of them to the Culture section. Everybody was okay with it. So what is your beef? I added "HTX" and "H-Town," also. Why not those two? Or why not, fuckin "Clutch City"? I really thought that internal note would help. Regarding the UH/Rice issue, I don't have a strong opinion. The issue for me is not rules or policies; its quality. And I guess either way works. Although, for paragraph balance and aesthetic form, I'd leave it as is. On the other hand, if you mention UH/Rice, what about TSU, St. Tom's, HBU, etc.? Josh Warner

I had a quick questions for you regarding your last edit of the Josh Warner article... Since you have now removed the db-bio tag, can we remove the "Contested candidates for speedy deletion" and "Candidates for speedy deletion" categories? Or is the article still subject for speedy deletion?

I want to thank you for forcing me to defend my article... A lot of the effort that I put in to finding references to defend it from deletion will come in handy in expanding the original article (and filling in references).

I also want to thank you for taking the time to cleanup the article a bit by splitting up the large article in to more meaningful sections.

I'm assuming I'm allowed to remove a tag I placed, because it can be removed by anyone except the original author. The contest tag, on the other hand, should be handled by an administrator. My experience suggests that the chance of it being speedily deleted now is very slim, both because of the improvements and because someone other than the original author has expressed the intent to work on it. However, it still needs work. Please provide sources to support the subject's notability. Of course, the need for sources goes beyond notability. F.Y.I. → Citizendium

Because of the incredible amount of vandalism and the prevalence of anonymous users on Wikipedia, I am devoting more of my attention to the new, more controlled competitor, Citizendium, and less to Wikipedia.

It is not certain that Citizendium will survive and prosper, but I think it is worth the support of honest users of Wikipedia. If it does prosper, I will likely work with it exclusively in the future.

Richard Enraght

Dear EVB-wiki, Many thanks for cleaning up/editing the Richard William Enraght page and getting me out of trouble, I am very new to Wikipedia, and became confused in what was "legal or illegal" in terms of Wikipedia's editing techniques. I became confused with all the help information on wikipedia resulting in a "personal information overload", but thanks to your help, the Richard Enraght page worked out well. I did remove the 1880 Richard Enraght newspaper cartoon from the Richard Enraght page because of confusion over copyright and the Warnings that kept poping up, I am sure it must be out of copyright, as it is over 100 years old and the newspaper no longer exists. Dear Evb Thanks for sorting out the external link for Fr Enraght under "Ministry", I have just looked and have seen the way you have entered the Link, I made the mistake of putting a shift + forward slash between "external link | and St Andrew Church Portslade by Sea", resulting as you knew, of not working. I think I have confused setting up this Link with the way its is done with Wiki Links where the Wiki page does not match the name used e.g. "Church of St. Paul, Bighton | St Paul Church Brighton"

Sure. I think gravesights are always appropriate in bio-articles of people who are deceased. Put it in the Later life and legacy. (I bet that's where you were planning to put it.) Remember, this is a living encyclopedia, so it is never finished. Others may edit (or vandalize) it, and it might need to be updated or maintained. You may find aditional information years from now. Richard Enraght redux

Dear Evb, Question about "my" Talk:Richard William Enraght, you put comments on there, quite rightly, correcting plus warnings over my novice attempt at creating a Richard Enraght article last week, is it possible to delete the comments now ?, as there are no positive remarks there, that does not bother me, as you have sent encouragement to me saying that I going in the right direction, but it did not show up on the public "Talk:Richard William Enraght" , my only concern in asking you can possibly delete your earlier comments, is that anyone reading may think all my earlier problems are still current, and start undoing all your work in editing to get the article straight Regards Dave daveportslade 17:52, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

The "Talk" pages help provide the history of the article and should not be deleted. Wikipedia's policy is to archive discussions that are out of date, rather than remove the discussion. There is no need to be concerned, the comments on the page are pretty common for new articles, and experienced editors know to be aware of the date stamps and timeline of the comments. --Evb-wiki 18:04, 20 April 2007 (UTC)

Looking at the deleted history on your talk page (I'm assuming you're the same person who uploaded the image), it appears you had previously been notified that the image had no source info or some other issue.
