{{tn|helpme}}: I am new at Wikipedia and it is too difficult for me to be a contributor, perhaps because I don't have a PC, only WAP. My mobile operator said that I can't "choose" my IP because mine are "dynamic address" (it's no use of proxies): I'm not a vandal. Thank you for your help. - Eva, the Tahitian

I'm confused - this is the talk page of Eva.i.uta, yet your edit comes from IP:193.253.141.66  Ronhjones  (Talk) 23:12, 29 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It sounds like you are Eva.i.uta (talk · contribs) - but you were not logged in.

If so, just log in to edit, and you will not have problems.  Chzz  ►  00:54, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Molière - pronunciation and something else

[edit]

As a Tahitian, I speak French, Tahitian, a bit of Tuamotu language (the mothertongue of my mother) and other Polynesian languages. Until July I wanted to be a language teacher and studied three years. Then, the bitter end of politics about new rules for our school system - I had to change my mind... Now I study Lettres modernes (French litterature, language and more) in France, in a French University. That is why I would like to contribute and correct errors I see on Wikipedia, like the pronunciation of Molière. At least when I can 'catch' the 'edit' tab, which is often hidden behind the Wikipedia logo on my phone screen. Or go to the end of the text in one section... Or when I don't see a warning sign saying that replacing /ɔ/ by /o/ in the IPA representation of Molière is "about to remove a large amount of the existing text" or something like this - and this happens often on the Wikipedias. Wow! Only one touch of my mobile phone to replace one character is able to do this? How is this possible? Curious, but that's 90% of what happens to me with my phone.
That's why I prefer to do small edits on Wiktionaries (when I'm not about to be a vandal...). That's really a humble and rather invisible work, I'd prefer to do more - from my phone. I can't be often at my godfather's (for money reasons, once again, as SNCF tickets are not bargains for a student) and use his computer...

I did one of these 'edits' (IPA for Molière) from my mobile phone, but this was rejected, as usual... As I can use my godfather's computer this weekend, I'd like to indicate that I'm not rich enough to buy a PC, I only have a mobile phone. I created my account, Eva.i.uta, at the end of last summer, without correct result: I never could create my user page User:Eva.i.uta ("Unauthorized", even from this PC! Why?!), I never could do anything without being becoming anonymous immediately, although I always log in, and I always become unlogged automatically when I leave the login page. I tried to edit errors, with an immediate revert in most cases! I really believe I never caused vandalism, I never remained anonymous because I always added Eva, the Tahitian and later Eva.i.uta after the IP. And there is nothing left in user history page, despite edits in tens.
I can't choose the IP: I asked my phone operator (Orange F) about this, and they told that I don't have other choice than having a dynamic address, not any open proxies. Do I have to mention that I personally never did what is written on the different IP's talk pages?
Why creating my own user page is "unauthorized"?!
I put the 'helpme' template on my talk page, but I received only unhelpful help, because I'm not sure that I understood what the authors Ronhjones and Chzz wrote (that's the reason why I didn't answer, to avoid more misunderstandings). I think that they themselves didn't understand why I need help.
Is it forbidden to be a contributor when you can't buy a PC?!
Could someone truly help me this time?? Eva.i.uta (talk) 02:09, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me, once more!

[edit]

Oh, please, {{helpme}} this time! Can you also tell me what "Member of group: Users" means (Special page > User profile > My preferences > Basic information): I am only ONE person. And I'm totally lost because I don't find many things I'm looking for... Eva.i.uta (talk) 00:58, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I think it means that you were at that time registered with Wikipedia, but not autoconfirmed yet; neither had you received any other user rights on Wikipedia. Lanthanum-138 (talk) 12:33, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
