[edit]Your most recent edits - the timeline - gives a lot of information including that more appropriate for the St Patricks College article. Might moving it to that article or a shorter narrative "Background" paragraph be better than a timeline list? Djegan (talk) 17:32, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Royal University of Ireland
[edit]I was wondering if you could provide a source for "Ríoga Ollscoil na hÉireann" - the reason been that "Príomh-scoil" was often used instead of "Ollscoil" in the early part of the last century from what I can ascertain. Djegan (talk) 22:59, 13 October 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Maurice Levitas, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://members.lycos.co.uk/spanishcivilwar/MLObit.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 14:37, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Copyright problems
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, Maurice Levitas, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://members.lycos.co.uk/spanishcivilwar/MLObit.htm. As a copyright violation, Maurice Levitas appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Maurice Levitas has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Maurice Levitas and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Maurice Levitas with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Maurice Levitas.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. McWomble (talk) 14:44, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Maurice Levitas
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Maurice Levitas, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Notability of Pádraig Ó Fiannachta
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Pádraig Ó Fiannachta, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Pádraig Ó Fiannachta seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Pádraig Ó Fiannachta, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 22:40, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for asserting notability now. Thats fine. Cheers Dr. Blofeld 10:50, 30 October 2008 (UTC)
Declan Ganley
[edit]Can you footnote any additions. There are several differing reports re his moving to Ireland all are press reports quoting the subject but all have varying years of return. This is why I did not add as it is hard to pinpoint when/if he returned to Ireland based on his own statements. CheersOpiumjones 23 (talk) 00:56, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]I note that you have been recently editing and creating pages relating to Irish political and historical figures. Could you please read WP:BLP and WP:NPOV. Please do not add your own opinion and comment to articles that involve living people and political parties. I am especially concerned about edits you have made that are referenced but the info added is not in the reference. eg [1]. The article reffed does not mention TV licences or free travel which you have added to the article. This is therefore opinion rather than citation. Could you review your recent edits and remove unsourced information and personal opinion.
You might also consider updating breaking news items that you used as sources to reflect the current situation eg various refs to Irish Budget 2009 that you have added to different pages. I understand that many of the proposed changes are no longer being considered or have been resolved ; eg Medical cards issue I can give you some sources that you can ref if you wish. Just leave a message on my talk page if you need them. Your edits may be misleading as they may not reflect the current situation. Cheers.

ANI
[edit]Hello, Eurokiwi. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The discussion is about the topic WP:ANI#User:Eurokiwi. Thank you. EdJohnston (talk) 05:51, 26 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi
[edit]Glad you got back to me. The budget issue may not be resolved but the info you added was well dated. You should add the eg the government reaction and not cherry pick one news story that helps push a POV. See WP:NPOV. The edits re flat sharing on one page you crtated were completely unsourced personal info that you can not just add in even if you were the person sharing or the person the page is about. It needs a ref from a reputable source. It is a good idea to put a note on the talk page of the page you are editing and discuss there, as it keeps discussions local to the page and interested editeors will be able to add their thoughts and suggestions there. Enjoy your editing. Opiumjones 23 (talk) 00:43, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Niamh Marie Redmond
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Niamh Marie Redmond, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Speedy deletion of Working Class Action
[edit]A tag has been placed on Working Class Action requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.
