Hi ETZO, VASCO from Portugal here,

Like you did in Adolfo Moyano Burgos, please do not remove the club category (in POPO's case MÁLAGA CF FOOTBALLERS). He does not play with that club anymore, but he played in the past, please don't remove it again, please. If you see many many articles in WP of football players, you will see some have 14, 15 categories of clubs, that means ALL the clubs they played for in their entire career. POPO played for MÁLAGA, correct?

Ty very much, have a nice weekend,

VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 04:44, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

POPO - Categorías

[edit]

VASCO AMARAL, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 14:55, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Surprise

[edit]

Mr. ETZO, VASCO here,

Could you please explain that very aggressive answer to me, when i only wanted TO HELP? I was being totally true when i told that information about categories in articles, and now you tell me i am "playing God"?!?! Why? I even tried in Spanish, because i thought you had some doubts after my first message and you edit mainly in Málaga CF, so i don't understand your reaction.

If you answer back and tell me something more, maybe then i WILL understand and even APOLOGIZE for something wrong i did to you (for example in an edit summary), for now, i am totally shocked and surprised.

VASCO AMARAL, Portugal - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 15:14, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanky you very much for the quick answer. I thought i had been very clear in the first two messages (but i am still not 100% sure if you are Spanish, so maybe the second message is not useful - are you Spanish)? Ah, and about your doubt: i don't want to be the main editor on MÁLAGA CF or any other article, i only want to work and help; and of course - fight vandalism until the end!

Now, for the explanations: POPO should be listed with MÁLAGA CF FOOTBALLERS category because he played in the past with the club. OK, he does not play there anymore, but he played that's the important part (8 matches in 2006-07, in DIV2) so the category should be there always. As i told you before with the Cristiano Ronaldo example, please see in his article he still has the categories of SPORTING CP FOOTBALLERS and MANCHESTER UNITED PLAYERS. Speaking about MÁLAGA, for example Albert Luque: he has played for almost 15 clubs in his career, so he has 15 different categories in his article, even though he plays for MÁLAGA currently.

My friend ETZO, i think my language is being very simple, i don't know what your doubt is, but i guarantee i am only trying to help you (and all the good editors) and am telling you the ABSOLUTE truth. If you are Spanish and have problems with English (but from your messages to me i see you do not have any problems, it is fine), please contact spanish user Mega60, he will also help you and tell you that the category thing is like i told you - i am not playing God or angel, just doing the best i can.

If you still have any doubts, please write back,

VASCO AMARAL - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 15:41, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • So everything resolved, for now. Thanks for your good work, and i'll wiki-see you in the future, Etzo. Cheers from Portugal,

VASCO - --NothingButAGoodNothing (talk) 15:52, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies

[edit]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO here,

Sorry for any incovenience i may have incurred in while making my edit summaries, sincerely. You have been doing a fantastic job in improving Málaga CF player pages, really. But i am a terrible perfectionist, unfortunately, that is why i react sometimes in summaries like that - and not just with you my Finnish friend.

Hope you can accept my apologies and we can work together well in the future. Speaking about not the future but the past, you also did one thing i did not understand: when i asked you not to remove the category MÁLAGA CF FOOTBALLERS in players, your response was "You are playing GOD in Wikipedia, that is not nice". So, as you see, we all make (verbal) mistakes, and i did not take offense after we talked this situation through, hopefully you can do the same (ex: you started a good idea at Roberto Santamaría Ciprián, which i improved here, i think it was good teamwork), believe me i do not think i am better than you or anyobody else at the site - well, maybe better than idiot vandals, but no one else...

Cheers, keep up the good work,

VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 14:49, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See, we good editors like me and you are only here to help, stuff like "poor display" and "playing god" are irrelevant, unless serious insults "arrive" at the scene. You can rest my friend, that will not happen with me, i am polite, even though i sometimes do not seem so :)

VALDO

[edit]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO "here"

of course, you have been following Málaga CF much more closely than me, so you must be correct, my friend. I really thought he was injured. I see that you have corrected it fully.

Sorry for the mistake, keep up the good work,

VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:10, 2 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A doubt

[edit]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO here,

Nice work you have been doing man! I really think it's best to be devoted to only one subject like you do (Málaga CF), rather than be "lost" like i am with various clubs and players, but hey, what can you do about that? :)

My doubt is the following: where did you find Apoño's stats for UD Marbella? I did not remove them, but i really think 27 matches in three seasons is very little (9 games per year? He could have been injured, maybe).

Attentively, keep up the good work,

VASCO, Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 21:32, 31 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oops, a change (in my opinion at least); just checked the link MÁLAGA OFFICIAL PROFILE, and it shows the following: 25 matches (not 27) and 7 goals, but ALL in one season. Perhaps the other stats are unknown, but it's hard to imagine that a player who is a starter (when healthy) in a La Liga club did not play in DIV3. I think maybe those stats simply are not available, i think you should remove it, because they are misleading (now, i will only correct from 27 to 25, but i think it should ALL be removed).

Have a great weekend, take care,

VASCO, Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:46, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mistake

[edit]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO here,

I just saw your recent edits at Duda, and saw a mistake: well, not your mistake, as you took that information from MÁLAGA's official web, but it is wrong 100% sure, he NEVER played one match in the Portuguese first division (or second or third), strange but true.

Keep up the great work, take care. By the way one question: is the great Jari Litmanen still playing?

Cheers from Portugal, VASCO - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 18:26, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: How come Veikkausliiga isn't professional?

[edit]

The rules governing notability of footballers is laid out under WP:ATHLETE, which states that for a footballer to be notable he must either have played in a fully pro league or for a senior national team. As to why the Veikkausliiga isn't fully pro, you'll have to take that up with the league management. A list of fully pro leagues, and non-fully-pro national top leagues (with sources) can be found here. If you can demonstrate that any of the players I have proposed for deletion are notable in a broader sense (see WP:N) feel free to contest the PROD's. I hope that clears things up a little. Duda - reply

[edit]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO here,

Hey, no problem man, happens to all of us - as you VERY WELL know, i have had "one or two" poor, or very poor summaries - i know you are a well-intended and friendly user. Even tough you did not need to apologize in any way, i accept the apologies, as you once accepted mine. Somehow, i was convinced that Duda had appeared in that match but, after checking Diario Marca's lineups, i saw my mistake.

Keep up the good work, regards from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:33, 24 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Niko Kukka has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Has not played in a fully-professional league. According to WP:Footy/Fully professional leagues, the Finnish Top league is NOT fully professional.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. References

[edit]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO here,

could you please (please!), when a source is not in English (seeing you operate mostly with Málaga CF-related articles, 99,99999% of them are in Spanish), provide the translated title but also the original title? Also, translate to English exactly what the title says, not just some words my friend (last example Wilfredo Caballero). Thanks.

Greetings to Suomi, happy 2012 and continue the good work - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 15:40, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Etzo, i hope you were not mocking me in your message ("daddy-o"?)? If so, what have i done to you? If not, sorry for any misunderstanding. I only want to help you/me/WP have a better article... --Vasco Amaral (talk) 16:26, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there ETZO, VASCO here,

yes it was your edit that caused my summary (exaggerated i admit) in Weligton Oliveira's page (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Weligton_Oliveira&diff=prev&oldid=465433063 see here). Why did i write that? Because i have sent you several guidelines in the past - of course you are not obliged to follow them - and it's very frustrating to see you don't do so; example: club names compressed in box, full name in storyline, which was the case in this article.

But "FUCK OFF"? This is quite serious, what on earth have i done to you (either you know or don't know it was me)?! Happy week - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:12, 13 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Finnish League and Cup articles

[edit]

Hi Etzo. I am making contact with those Editors that take an active interest in Finnish football on English Wikipedia.

For a long time I have been happy to work on Finnish football on Wikipedia without making contact with other Finnish football enthusiasts - basically I like preparing articles / undertaking tasks that interest me and contact with others has not been important. However recently some of my work was changed by a Wikipedia Reviewer and this has led me to question what approach I should be following and indeed what approach would other Finnish football enthusiasts wish to adopt?

The current issue I face is the naming of Finnish Football League and Cup pages. I have adopted the approach that we should always be using the Finnish name in the title, for example 2007 Ykkönen and 2001 Veikkausliiga. However, I am aware that words like Mestaruussarja mean very little to most English speaking Wikipedia users. I therefore have included the English name in the title as well in recent pages, for example, 1936 Mestaruussarja – Finnish League Championship, 1938 Suomensarja – Finnish League Division 2 and 2000 Kakkonen – Finnish League Division 2. I thought that this approach might be a suitable naming convention until the Reviewer changed "2012 Suomen Cup - Finnish Cup" back to 2012 Finnish Cup.

The basic question I am asking is whether Finnish League and Cup articles should have a Finnish or English title or some form of hybrid?

I provide examples below:

Finnish Title English Title Hybrid Title
2012 Veikkausliiga 2012 Finnish Championship 2012 Finnish Veikkausliiga
2012 Kolmonen 2012 Finnish Division 3 2012 Finnish Kolmonen
2012 Suomen Cup 2012 Finnish Cup 2012 Finnish Suomen Cup
2012 Suomen Liigacup 2012 Finnish League Cup 2012 Finnish Liigacup
1938 Maakuntasarja 1938 Finnish Division 3 1938 Finnish Maakuntasarja
1954 Suomensarja 1954 Finnish Division 2 1954 Finnish Suomensarja
1970 II divisioona 1970 Finnish Division 2 1970 Finnish II divisioona
1986 III divisioona 1986 Finnish Division 3 1986 Finnish III divisioona
1997 Ykkönen 1997 Finnish Division 1 1997 Finnish Ykkönen

I have read Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English) and Wikipedia:Article titles but have not reached a firm conclusion yet on the best way forward in establishing a consistent approach. The issue does matter with respect to the corrections I must make to existing pages and the tens of pages yet to be prepared. It could also carry implications for some of the articles that you currently contribute to.

I think that the matter would best be addressed on a proper basis and encourage that the issue is considered on the Talk Page of the Wikipedia:WikiProject Football/Finland task force. If the matter is of concern to you as well, please add your name to the list of participants on the main page.

You may also wish to comment on the project structure that I have prepared.

Kind regards - (Finnish Gas (Finnish Gas 12:17, 23 February 2012 (UTC)).[reply]

Two requests - Apologies

[edit]

This IP has to be you my friend (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/91.157.213.175), editing from Finland, 100% (or 99,99999%) about Málaga CF,

with that in mind, two requests: 1 - as you did in Pablo Pinillos Caro and in many many other articles, please don't add words of your choice in references, add the CORRECT title. If it's a foreign reference (mostly will be in Spanish as you operate with Málaga), add the Spanish title and the translation in brackets; 2 - Please, names compressed in the infobox (example Alcoyano), in full in storyline (CD Alcoyano).

Apologies: sorry for writing what i wrote in Idriss Carlos Kameni, i have nothing against him or Málaga, it's just i thought game would end that way. But you are correct, i should have waited until the match finished :(

Have a great week my friend, from Portugal - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 17:50, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
