If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Espiritufilm requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. —teb728 t c 08:59, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Notability

[edit]

Hi EE2014: I'm going to leave the same message for the other editor who has worked on Maria Louisa Espiritu.

I'm sorry, but I don't think Ms Espiritu qualifies for an article on Wikipedia yet. This is an encyclopedia, and cannot include every person and thing there is. So we require a certain level of notability: which we define in terms of other reliable sources (such as newspapers, magazines, books, and tv, not things anyone can contribute to such as other wikis, blogs, or IMDb) having covered the person or the topic. The basic requirement is summed up with links to more detailed explanations on this summary page. Alternatively, there are special criteria for different kinds of biographies - this seems to be the one applicable to a director. Espiritu is still "up and coming". I do not see any press coverage of her work, and the article itself currently speaks only of as yet unreleased films. Unless she has indeed been covered extensively in the press, or has received a very prestigious prize, I believe this is way premature and based on you not understanding how we work. This essay would seem to be pertinent. I hope she makes it big so that we can have an article on her soon. But I'm also sorry no one took the time to fully explain our criteria for inclusion earlier. I'll also recommend that you read Wikipedia:Up and coming next big thing. --Drm310 (talk) 19:22, 25 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
