Hi Eruditescholar

Hi Eruditescholar

I want to let you know that I had just closed the deletion discussion for the above article as Speedy keep #1. Cheers! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 20:17, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Removed Pending Changes Reviewer userbox

[edit]

I have removed the Pending Changes Reviewer userbox you had on your userpage because you do not have that user right. Reviewing changes is not the same thing as having this particular user right and claiming you have the right when you don't is misleading and shouldn't be done. You are welcome to apply for this user right here and once you get it, feel free to re-add the userbox. Thanks! Ca2james (talk) 17:33, 18 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Continuing to add ethnic categories without proper sources

[edit]

In this edit at the Ike Nwankwo article, you have identified a football player as Igbo based on his surname. As a further defence of your change you have linked to http://i-chi.gnbo.com.ng/Our+people in the edit summary. This appears to be a personal website, listing famous Igbos. The site would be most unlikely to qualify as a WP:Reliable source for use on Wikipedia. You are risking a block for disruption if you persist in ignoring the concerns expressed at ANI about adding ethnic categories that lack reliable sources. To avoid sanctions I recommend that you undo your change at Ike Nwankwo. Thank you, EdJohnston (talk) 17:56, 21 February 2015 (UTC) Hi, EdJohnston, Thanks for cautioning me. The categorization of Ike Nwankwo was not only based on his Igbo surname but also his first name "Ikenna" which also happens to be Igbo. In actual fact, his name also appears on this list: List of Igbo people. I do not add ethnic categories to BLPs unless I am sure and with citations Eruditescholar (talk) 18:36, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

None of these considerations gives you a reliable source. I still recommend that you undo your change at Ike Nwankwo to avoid getting blocked by me or some other admin. If you undo this change, but still think you are right about the evidence, you can ask for review at the WP:Reliable sources/Noticeboard. EdJohnston (talk) 18:51, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I will undo the change per your directives. Eruditescholar (talk) 18:58, 21 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio notice

A tag has been placed on Babatunde Ogunnaike requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.eletrica.ufpr.br/anais/cba/2014/PDF/1570021359.pdf. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Hi, Wikicology. Great to hear from you. However, your nomination of this article for deletion is unwarranted because the article was created before the site in question, hence it is akin to a mirror image of the article and not vice versa. It is also necessary for you to know that when I first created the article, it was deemed notable and kept after an AFD discussion. Please, always be careful and do proper research before your AFD nominations. I recommend that you withdraw your nomination as it will most likely not be deleted. Thanks.Eruditescholar (talk) 07:59, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Nice to hear from you my Eruditescholar, I least expected a friendly note from you and thank for the diplomacy. I removed the tag after I left a comment on the article talk page. I never deemed it fit to check for further informations before my nomination. I'm deeply sorry about it and that will not repeat itself in the future.
I want to appreciates your effort in adding categories to articles on wikipedia, particularly WikiProject Nigeria and your immense contributions to WikiProject lagos. Keep the good work going, I love you! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 08:13, 16 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hospitals

[edit]

I don't understand what is gained by a series of categories for hospitals in cities in Nigeria. Wouldn't it be better to categorise them by states?Rathfelder (talk) 20:17, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Rathfelder: While categorization of hospitals by state in Nigeria is appropriate, there's no rule that prohibites categorization of articles by city in Wikipedia. Besides, there are many similar categorizations of hospitals by city in other countries here. Eruditescholar (talk) 20:30, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Surely all the hospitals are in states, but only some are in cities?Rathfelder (talk) 21:01, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are many Nigerian hospital articles waiting to be created and it's appropriate to categorize lists by city articles like the others. Eruditescholar (talk) 21:12, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 30 Days in Atlanta, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Lekki. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

@Winner 42: While creating the article, I clicked the "Save page" button instead of the "Show preview" button. I intended to rewrite the article which I have done already. Please, I know there is still room for improvement but let me know if the article is still a copyright violation. Thanks. Eruditescholar (talk) 19:33, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Totally understandable, I've gone ahead and removed the speedy deletion notice from the article as you have fixed the issue. To suggest a minor improvement: it is preferred to put references behind the statement that they support rather than at the end of a paragraph. This is a pretty minor thing done for readability and so that the statements you make can be more easily verified. Excellent job on the article so far and Happy Editing! Thanks for your contributions to Wikipedia, particularly the categorizations of thousands of articles on wikipedia. However, can you explain what you mean in your edit summary that "copyvio unwarranted"? when you actually added a copyvio content to the article. I expected you to write the plot summary in your own words before inclusion. In addition, am aware that the copyvios were copied from this source and the source had already been used to validate one or more contents of the article. I really don't mean anything personal. I undid your edits on it again and re-addition is not forbidden provided you can re-write the plot summary in your own word. Happy editing! Wikigyt@lk to M£ 15:39, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Wikicology:, For your clarification, the initial plot summary I added was not a copyright violation as a significant part of the small extract from the source was changed. This is coupled with the fact that I am not very familiar with the film. However, I'll change the wordings further if you insist. Eruditescholar (talk) 18:41, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks you Eruditescholar. You will find this tool useful. Happy editing. Wikigyt@lk to M£ 19:08, 20 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Do you really feel that Eko FM meets our notability guidelines? I thought of taking it to WP:AfD. What do you think? Wikigyt@lk to M£ 20:50, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Wikicology: Articles on well established Media stations usually always meets notability guidelines irrespective of article quality. What is really needed is an improvement and expansion to the stub article about Eko FM. Eruditescholar (talk) 05:07, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
