Hi Dormskirk. I work for Barts Health NHS Trust Archives, which holds the collections and used to run the museum, which closed in 2020. The information in the 'Museum and Archives' section is very out of date, but no one external has updated it, and so researchers are not seeing correct information. If you cannot accept these edits, can the section just be deleted altogether, by you or another editor? This would be preferable to having incorrect information on the page over 3 years after it became incorrect.

Just as a follow up to this, I notice that you have amended the text to say that the museum is closed, but the links and information are still incorrect (eg re the catalogue, how to access material etc): the original section was added by someone external and appears to have been in error for years (last edited 2016, I think?)
The fact that there was a museum which is now closed seems less helpful to people who want to research further than providing up to date and coreect information about the collections ans how to access them Ermerlindaj (talk) 11:06, 12 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - It is still beneficial to retain a section on the former museum: this sort of information is really important for posterity especially as you have now closed the museum and people cannot go and see what was there. As regards the archives I have now inserted a simple sentence: "The Royal London's archives contain a large number of documents dating back over 900 years." Hopefully, this is now accurate. Hi Dormskirk. Although I unserstand that it is useful to know that the museum existed the current text explains what was in the old displays but not how any of them can be accessed today, since there is no link to the Barts Health NHS Trust Archives website (appointments can be made to see material through the archives, whose website is www.bartshealth.nhs.uk/barts-health-archives), nor how they might be searched (through the online catalogue). As well as the main text, the photo of the model church would also benefit from information about how it might be accessed by researchers (ie it is accessible at Barts Health NHS Trust Archives). Currently, the bulk of the text is about a now closed museum, and there is nothing on how researchers can take their research further on any of the topics mentioned.
The title of the section is also still misleading, since it suggests that the museum and archives are/were the same, and since the body text now clarifies that the museum is closed, linking the two appears to imply that the archives are also be inaccessible. I would suggest that a title of 'Historic collections' could cover the whole topic better.
In addition, the line about the collections is incorrect - the Royal London Hospital collections date back to the foundation of the hospital in 1740. The wider Barts Health NHS Trust Archives include material going back to the 12th century, but the Royal London material is only a small part of this and covers only the period back to 1740. I understand the reasons for not allowing affliated individuals to make edits, but I would be very grateful if you or fellow editors could support us in making the information provided accurate and helpful to researchers since we are unable to do this directly. You need to put the declaration on your user page, not within an article itself. You need to do this fairly soon, declaring paid editing is a Terms of Use requirement(see WP:PAID). Instead of editing the article directly, you should be making formal edit requests(click for instructions) on the article talk page. 331dot (talk) 08:28, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
